I've never known the club be as "left footed" as it currently is. We could turn out a first 11 that are all left-footed. To be clear I would never recommend this team but it could be done.

Long

Hill
Higginbotham
Lecsinel Jean Francois
Williams

Robson
Doyle
McFadzean
Tonne

De Girolamo

Team full of lefties? When Darren sees the title he'll be firming up - right up until he realises you're on about left footed players, and not socialists :-)

You can't have a team of lefties without Nozzer - only problem was, he had left feet on both legs

Can anyone name a team of players that was full of left-leaning players? (Not necessarily blades)

Graeme le Saux at left back obviously....

Pat Nevin.....Winger
Gordon Taylor.......Midfield
Brendan Batson......Fullback
Gary Neville.............Fullback
for starters

The lefty team would obviously play at Bramall Lane during the 1970 general election campaign, when the fans on the Kop chanted: "Heath Out!"

Oops, I mean February 1974 election campaign.
From that day to this, I don't think I've heard a political chant at any game anywhere.

That's definitely what I thought when I saw the title!

Although considering Kitson's up-bringing, I'm gonig to assume he wouldn't be included in the politically 'left' team! Also, I have it on good authority that Michael Doyle is a massive racist and as right-wing as they come.

DIsclaimer: Michael Doyle is not a racist, and has never portrayed any xenophibic views to me, any of my friends or family.

He's not posh. Working class lads can sometimes string a sentence together too...

Bugger!

I've mentioned this befor, but Billy Barnes who played in our 1902 cup winning team, was the brother of Alf Barnes, who was a Labour MP in the East End and Minister of Transport in the Labour Government 1945-51 and thus responsible for the creation of Britsh Rail

Steve Perryman - he was the only committed Labour voter in the early 70's Spurs team (see Hunter Davies "The Glory Game").

we do have a fair few cack footers as they call them down my way, I think Kitsons best foot is his head

Two more Spurs players, Tony Galvin and Chris Hughton. Scottish Reds, Gordon McQueen and Brian McClair. Scouse Red Jaime Carragher.

Dazza, its a long time sine I read the book, so I may be suffering false memory syndrome here, but when asked which party he supported didn't Peryman say
'' Labour - Don't all footballers vote Labour?'' only for Davies to then tell us that every one of his teammates were Tories.

I think he did say something like that, but he was also pro-actively lefty. He also said that "taxes have to be paid".

As I recall, the only other Labour voter was Ralph Coates, who just voted Labour because his parents did and had zero interest in politics.

Well if fill the defence with 4 left backs a general rule of thumb would suggest they're left footed..

You might aswell put long up front etc.. It's a nonsense..

Also you have managed to put De Girolamo who has played about twice in the team Over the left footed Dave Kitson

It's not meant to be sense ! To make sense you'd put some right footed players in ...........

You are right I've overlooked Dave Kitson. And I'm pretty sure Aaron Barry is left footed.

Unusually 43% of our named squad is left footed

Hardly any black players either  suitably pointed out by one of our "older members" that we sit with
