While Speed's departure hasn't been confirmed **officially**, the fact that the Welsh FA have called a press conference for tomorrow to unveil their new manager suggests that Speed has gone.
Whoever gets the managers job, I will be behind. However, I would urge whoever is holding the reins at the club to take their time and appoint the right man for the job.
Since Warnock's departure, we've tried "ambitious big name", which didn't work.
We've then tried 2 x "familiar with the club", which almost worked but eventually, hasn't.
I think all three appointments were made in haste and while the league table stresses urgency, the long term success of Sheffield United requires more thought.
So please, whoever is in charge and if you are reading, make the right choice for the right reasons. Not the cheapest choice for the wrong ones.
