Yesterdays loss was in my opinion solely down to extremely poor tactics!!!
I hate to say it but Brain Laws is a much, much better manager than blackwell. He has made a bunch of clueless players (few expceptions) on next to no money play a much better, balanced style of play than our much more experienced, expensive squad!!!
All over the pitch we were not playing to our strengths, we were losing out on the second ball every time because we were hitting up in the air 99% of time to 2 small strikers playing against two formidable centre halves. If we tried to play a much simpler game, pass and run, create space, use the wings properly and not play head tennis all the time we would have done much, much better!
Yes you can say that the manager cant take all the blame but he is clearly telling them to play like they are doing. No set of players would play in that way without being instructed too, I honestly think we would of played better if blackwell just encouraged the players to play in a way that suited them. What upset me the most about yesterday's result was not that we just lost but that we deserved to lose and were the second best team throughout.
I think it may be worthwhile trying to get another striker and midfielder in and selling off quinn and webber because they simply are not good enough at this level. But firstly we either need to get a new manager in who is willing to play a more expansive and attacking style of play where we keep it on the deck and do not continually hoof it up front OR Blackwell changes the way that we are playing at the moment dramatically (unlucky I know).
This is my first response after the match yesterday and am glad to get it off my chest!
