Ah well, I suppose that saves us a bit more on the wage bill.

Sheffield United defender Sun Jihai has left the club and returned to China after just one season at Bramall Lane.

The 31-year-old joined the Blades last summer, but made just 11 league starts over twelve months.

Blades boss Kevin Blackwell told BBC Radio Sheffield: "Sun found it difficult to settle here. He was living with his mother and missed his family."

"He was a great professional and was a great example to the young players at the club. I wish him all the best."

I'm not that disappointed, he looked good with the ball at his feet, but defensively he was suspect. The only time he got tested was by Mifsud and he put him up in the air.

Does that mean that we're more likely to keep Naughton now?

He's been in England a bit of a long time to start getting homesick but as mentioned above, it's another ex-Prem player off the wage bill.

He was a good player with the ball at his feet, it was when the ball was at the feet of the opposition that he lets himself down. Especially when he aims for the knees...

Sad to see him go as I thought we would keep him as cover while Naysmith was out - probably saw no point in being a sub when he can get picked up by a club in China o play regularly - not likely Chengdu.

They have probably let him go due to his wages. No point keeping him for back up with the amount he'll be on.

It was absolutely unbelievable ..... mind you, he had a practice a few minutes beforehand. Good thing to trim/free up wages, and all the best to him.

Totally his own fault. He lost his place because of a stupid tackle and Naughton has never looked back.

If he hadn't made that tackle then he may have kept his place and Naughton could have been warming the bench for a lot longer

Sun played for Chengdu this weekend, they won, guess he should be happy as will Chengdu.
