No more sexy pink logos?

From OS: Blades announcement on home shirts

Sheffield United are to change their home shirts to improve the 'visibility' of the logo of the club's new sponsors.

The decision comes after "much deliberation and consultation" with representatives of the sponsors - the Mediterranean island of Malta.

The new home shirts, which will feature a stronger more distinctive www.visitmalta.com logo, will be worn by the team for the first time when they take on Derby County at Pride Park this weekend.

The new shirts are due to go on general sale towards the end of October. In the meantime, the club will continue to sell the existing replica shirts.

However, once the new shirts arrive, any fan that has purchased a home shirt will be entitled to a free exchange through the Club Superstore.

"After much deliberation and consultation with our new sponsors we felt the logo was not visible enough on the home shirts," said Commercial Manager Andy Daykin. "So, new shirts featuring a stronger more distinctive logo have been ordered.

"We apologise for any inconvenience but trust that supporters will understand the reasons behind this decision."

The club are making plans to distribute the returned old shirts and left over stock to community soccer groups and charities around the world.

"We have spoken to our sponsors and they are happy for us to distribute the shirts to community clubs and charities associated with the Blades," added Mr Daykin.

booooo, I enjoyed the fact the sponsor wasn't a garish colour or took up half the shirt :(

Personally I think the whole shirt looks shit.

What's all that swirly bollocks about?

Apologies to all those who have got one.;)

I wanted a new Blades shirt for my birthday so asked the family to get me one. When I looked at it I thought "I'll not bother". Asked them to get me another new car stereo instead.

Oh and by the way,

Open message to the motorbike riding light-fingered twat off the Arbourthorne:- "I am taking the stereo out of my car every night so please stop trying to single-handedly keep Autoglass in business you thieving little scrote. Last time you came round my house, the SOCO's said they needed some blood samples to positively ID you, so would you let me know when you are next coming and I will provide them with gallons of the stuff"

Sorry for going off-topic, Foxy and Linz:)

Thought there was something different about our home shirt today. :)

So we now have shirts to blame for the performance, sounds logical to me.

We couldn't see them that well... but I'm assuming the white background has just been changed to black?

Pretty much.

I'll try and get an image from the recording for you later :)
