Many seasons ago we played local bands' songs at half time.

One of the songs played included the following lyrics;

"..and its here at Sheffield 2 where all we want to do is back the Blades and see the owls go down"

Another poster (Kozluk) chipped in that the song also included "we don't like Mondays but we cant stand Wednesday".

Apparently it was on CD that the club produced.

Has anyone got this or any idea of where I can get the song from?

Cheers for any help.

for the last hour I have been looking online for any hint of the song. It seems to have disappeared, I cant find anything anywhere :/

I know it was released on CD as I remember the argument I had with my sister when she let a friend borrow it (I never saw it again)

I think it was 2002 or 3. I've got the cd at home in the uk.

It was the work of genius but can't for for the life of me think of the name

it was at least 1997 as its all my uncle played on the drive down to Wembley that year.

There were a few other songs on the cd, a remix version and another, I cant remember the title or artist either.

I'm not Kozluk, I'm BoSS!  ;)

I remember this. They used to play it before games, along with a song which was this cheesy rock number, the only lyrics being "Sheffield United to the top of the league." over and over.

That was the B side on the same cd

This thread is really old i know, but if anyone happens to still have a copy or can send me it via email, please let me know UTB

The CD was two tracks and entitled 'Blades Singalong'. It was released shortly ahead of the Palace play-off final in 1997. The artist was Max Patrick.

That's great help, any ideas on if you can find it anywhere?

Was this the infamous “Red Tape Studios”?

This song was ace. I remember it had the names of players and contained Katchouro's name so it must be around 20 years old now.

Just seen this.

I rewrote and recorded the infamous and much missed Ted Bovis's lyrics into 'Blades Supreme', which was a rework of 'Love Supreme' by Robbie Williams. I also did the same with his rework of 'Penny Lane' which became 'Bramall Lane'. Both had Radio Sheffield soundbites with Warnock saying 'if we're gonna do it, we'll do it the hard way' in the first one and the commentary for Jags's goal vs the Dirties in the other.

I also recorded a mercurial but short 'Greasy Chip Butty' guitar instrumental for the 'run on' music competition back in 2004. The guitar was played by my buddy Bob Crozier.

I remember it had the line “Alan Kelly stops the ball from getting through”

so it’s mid 1990s at least.

I'll do my best to dig it out. However I've got married, moved house and had 2 kids since this thread began so don't pin your hopes on me!

Haha - I'm sorry pal, I legit didn't see how old it was.

I've done the same in that time as well man. What a fucking boob I am. Don't worry/

I’m sure Gary Sinclair will have a copy somewhere.

Come to think of it if it’s 1990s then he probably plays it every week at Maggie Mays.

Doing some research on this CD and saw the thread. A long long time ago even since the last message in this. However a poster put it up just before Wembley this past week. Enjoy

back the blades and see the owls go down. ⚔️
