Owing to problems beyond their control, Sheffield United are currently experiencing difficulties with their telephone lines.

If you can get down in person the best course of action would be to do so, and in plenty of time. Supporters are advised to arrive early to purchase and/or collect tickets.

The club apologies for any convienience and would ask for patience from those who need to contact by telephone.

surely people could use the online service? or just get there 15 minutes early.

do that many people buy them on the phone on the day of the match?

I'd suggest getting there a lot earlier than 15 minutes early. It's going to be busier than people think!

even on Normal matchdays the ticket office is usually pretty busy.

Crowd/Tickets

My friend turned up at 2.45pm, was in the ticket office by 2.50pm and in the ground by kick off. He said there were barely any queues.

The flip side was some others at work who tried to ring yesterday through and were calller 23, 24 and on the phone for 20 mins before they gave up. They live away from Sheffield and cannot get down to the ground but you could not get tickets on the internet. The fact they just decided sod it and could not be bothered to turn up on the day and pay the extra sums up the apathy surrounding the club.

You may argue people should have got tickets before or at earlier games but sometimes people may only decide a day/few days before. That is their entitlement. The club should have a better telephone system or surely an online system. I wonder how many others just gave up yesterday when trying to get through.

Still disappointing to see only 10,000 Blades attending but this is a sure sign of things to come. The prices were excellent so no blame to club on that one but the club can reduce prices to a pound and people are now still not going to come. It is too little, too late.

Too many broken promises, lies, squad/s completely torn apart, let down big games and awful managerial appointments.

Todays swarms of empty seats will be a regular fixture at the Lane next year but away teams wont bring 5,500 so dread to think what the attendances will be.

As stated in this thread yesterday's attendance was the highest home 3rd round attendance in nine years of collated statistics.

If people don't want to buy their ticket in advance but want to get on the phone that is indeed their entitlement, but to moan now about a system that's been in place, and shit, for years is a bit rich. I reckon they can't sell many tickets on the phone system when it is working anyway, because most Blades know that it's shit, and has been for years. If there's no alternative then just maybe you'll use it, but I don't think it's a very high percentage that didn't attend the match solely because the phone sale system is out of the Dark Ages. Most didn't go because they can't be arsed, like every 3rd round hom ematch going back years.
