Just as a matter of interest Woodwardfan ,what makes you think that the Prince is here for the long haul and will eventually buy out KM?

I study all the press releases and my business background helps me to put two and two together. Nothing more than that I'm afraid but 50 per cent co-ownership would never be contemplated as a viable company model. In the original press releases about the Prince there were plenty of signals given about the future destiny of the company in the prince's hands.

I take careful note because I am a shareholder and have more shares than I would care to admit.

Thanks for coming back to the thread Bladesway, appreciate it.

The key is that the future with the Prince is all we've got. KM IS a proven footballing failure, despite putting everything into it, including millions of pounds,he's maybe lost over 60m.

Let's look for any progress forwards. As Blades we do not expect leaps forward nor are we likely to get them..

The events of 2007 to August 2013 are painful for all of us. It's thereonwards that matters.

Clough may or may not be big enough for such a massive challenge, but he's as good as we would ever have got. I would have preferred McCall but now he's yesterday's man at Motherwell, hero of mine though.

The manager deserves a fair crack and us fans will be in limbo until it all works through. IMO he deserves this season and next and I think he has done very well overall, what with the cups and 7th last season. However his recruitment and blind spot 're strikers eat away at confidences.

I'm on a mission for fans on this particular quality forum to debate the real current issues, not past bygones. Up to now I'm peeing in the wind

What I do know for certain is that the prince's money has rescued us.

Kevin McCabe has been a proven failure with the heart ruling the head on many occasions , and perhaps being ill advised on all things football . The McCabe family and associated businesses have ploughed millions into the club , with the only positive , is that we have a first class infrastructure .

The jury on Mr Prince is still out , but the fruits of his adventure into the blades will be more apparent as time moves on , especially if we achieve promotion this season .

Mr Clough may or may not be up to the massive challenge , but in my opinion he is the right man for now and in the future. He is fully committed , loyal , a real football man , with strong principles and leadership we have lacked in the past

Mr Woodwardfan , you are correct when you say his recruitment and blind spot on strikers eats away at confidences . Goals win games , you get 3 points , and move up the table , whatever league you are in. We seem to be one step forward , with two steps back , with no players seemingly good enough ,to get a game by the throat and change it.

The performances , team selections and dire field of play have left me bipolar and questioning were we are going . The past is the past , as you say , but unfortunately it does sadly keep raising its nasty head , because we have seen it all before and have been let down so many times.

The positive is that when we get out of this league , there is no limit to where we can end up . I mean like Southampton not Southend.

We have the first class ground , training facilities , fan base and hopefully board . Put all this in to the mixer and add the first team squad and all is good on planet football . This season is more important than ever before , it defines the future .

Gloria Gaynor - Rescue me.

Will he fuck.

McCabe talked Princey-boy into signing the line on a truckload of bullshit, the same crap he feeds us on a weekly basis.

"Hello your Highness. About our chat regarding you joining the board of United. What's that? No ... hah, it's not Manchester United, no. It's Sheffield United who are bit like Sheffield Wednesday ... yes ... yes, you've heard of them. Yes, Chreesseee Waddle ... yes, yes ... them ... and a bit like Manchester United only in Sheffield. Sheffield. Yes. That's right. "You Sexy Thing", great song that and the movie was excellent - that is just what Sheffielders are like in real life! No ... not all of them take their clothes off, thankfully. Anyway, we play in red and white stripes ... yes, that's right ... like Exeter City and Cheltenham ... hey, you know your football, don't you, your Highness, hah-hah! but if you sign on, we have got a big fan base who will buys merchandise, roll through the turnstiles and sing "Greasy Chip Sandwich" over and over again. Yes. They're unbelievable. I even got them up to the Premiership, failed to give them much financial support and watched them go through a series of shit managers as they fell through two divisions ... and they still fucking turn up! Its madness. I even own the ground, the kit, the players, the hotel, the grass ... don't tell them this, but I even own the supporters. Fucking mugs. Why do I need you to join? Oh, erm, well I have run out of money you see. I should be charging them £65-00 for a conc/restricted view/standing out in the car park but you know, I have to be competitive. And Neil Warnock took all my cash to write a horrid book about me. And this player called Lionel Tevez cheated and got us relegated. Yes, I went to court about that and won £18. I spent that all on Brian Robson, the ex England manager. Italy 90. Yes, him. Well, I thought it was him when I took him on ...

So, if you sign what my plan is, is to get the club playing Champions League football within eight months. I have a cracking manager lined up, he was kit man at Everton when David Moyes was manager there and they won fuck all. Yes. Moyes. Manager of Manchester United. No ...once again your Highness ... we are not signing Manchester United ... they are a team in the English Premi ... oh, never mind.

Look, what I am trying to tell you is that Sheffield United can be just like Manchester United in a very short space of time. As I have lost all my cash I need you to come and share my vision, stump up some readies and we can be shaking hands - Sheiking Hands ... geddit? Oh, never mind ... with the big boys in Europe like Bayern St Munich and Real Barcelona. I have big plans and it involves this brilliant manager, David Weird, and he has already shown me the strategy, formation, vision and bloody mindedness of a manger I would say has the ability to be as good as David Moyes will be at Manchester United. Pardon? No ... (fucks sake) we are not playing Manchester United. They are two divisions above us. Do you have Sky?

So, I'll draw up the paperwork and have it sent over. If you don't mind, I'll break the exciting news in an announcement to the press and the fans and tell them we have some sort of game changing investment now you are on board and a bigger Blade than I am.

Ta-ra, your Highness. Aye ... si thi later pal. Pardon? It's a Sheffield term. Don't worry, I will teach you that and 'We aint got a barrel of money' when you get here and see what we are all about ... "

No mate,i understand why you defend the club a lot now,all things money.

As you know all value in the shares was effectively written off long ago. That's mainly how KM lost his 60m, that plus giving up all the debt the club owed him plus donating half the company to the Prince.. Mine was a bit less than that!
