The U23s are away at Crewe Alexandra on Monday 11 April at 1pm. Being played at Gresty Road in old money. The Carrier Bag Firm fucking hate Monday afts games. Many, many, many of the main pub & bar targets put up the "Closed Mondays" flag.

It's a 23 game season. We've got three to play (Inc Monday). We currently top the Professional Development League North Group with 44 points. We've already sealed a top two play off spot. And, our closest rivals, Coventry City have 4 to play and can get 49 points.

So, we can't seal the title tomorrow I'm afraid. (And remember this is Academy Division 3, with no promotion).

Anyway, despite the closed pubs fiasco, the Carrier Bag Firm will be repping. So, stuff will appear on this thread, as if by magic.Screenshot_20220410-095609_Chrome.jpg

Could be a sign of Billy being back, could be a sign that Osula will take the striker spot on the bench...

Either way it's intriguing

(edit : could also be fuck all 🤷😂)

(edit edit : just realised N'Diaye in there too, definitely intriguing)

I might have missed something, but I'm not sure what's intriguing about players who haven't got many minutes playing time lately, getting minutes playing time to keep them match fit?

Just going from a few things that have happened recently, for instance Seriki getting pulled off at half time (cheeky) for the academy just before he started against Forest...

Can sometimes be an indicator, but as I said in my 1st edit, might mean bugger all.

Either way, I always find it a little intriguing to see who's being picked for the U23s in a first team match week, especially given the strategy of bringing some of them through (and the fact that a few of them are considered to be part of the first team squad now anyway)

3-0 now, N'Diaye, Gordon and Frecklington.

Win would take them to 47 points from 21 matches. Coventry have it all to do with 37 from 19.

Millwall at home on the 27th April and Ipswich away on the 3rd May to play for United.

Coventry have Watford (a) and Cardiff (h) on the 19th and 25th with no margin for error.

Blog's Up. Easy enough win in the end. Bit scrappy at times. Not a full flowing, commanding performance. And. Never. Ever send me out for a Beer on a Monday afts. Farce. Anyway. Pack The Lane on April 26. Although I've got some SERIOUS PatelShire Cricket Blogging to do before then. Have a read if you're having a read...

Thanks Phil. Frustrating day on the ale, or not as the case may be.

Jebbo pulling no trees up, either in terms of chance conversion or graft. Or am I reading your report and my 2+2 is equalling 5?

It's just one game. And it's an odd game on a Monday afts. In Academy Division 3. So don't read too much into it. But, Jebbison was just ordinary today. Him & Ndiaye didn't click.
