Big, big game next up for the Academy. The U18s go to Goodison Park to play Everton in the FA Youth Cup 4th Round on Friday 14 January. Winner on the night. Extra Time & Penalties as needed. The winners go on to play Reading or Manchester United in the 5th Round.
Everton are currently 6th in Premier League U18 Division One. (A reminder that United effectively play in U18 Division Three North). As an aside, you may care to note that Blackburn U18s currently top PL U18, ahead of Manchester City, Liverpool, Wolves, Boro then Everton.
The Carrier Bag Firm Herding Cats phase has concluded, so we now know who is driving & who is hitting the Liverpool Micro Pubs. Be a great night for the Young 'Uns.

Err just to be pedantic - shouldn’t it be Everton v Academy U18s or are you following the NFL practice of putting the away side first in the fixture list…I think we should be told 😳😂

Manchester United U18 have beaten Reading 3-1 tonight. That means if we beat Everton tomorrow, we go away to Manchester United in Round 5. The lead U18 Coach for MUFC is, of course, none other than the former Carrier Bag Firm heartthrob Travis Binnion.

Manyoo have a player called Mainoo? Brilliant. Nearly as brilliant as McBurnley.

1-0 Everton good goal from outside the box. We’re decidedly over matched in this one

I don’t know the ages of the players but the commentator mentioned two Everton players who were only 15 years old.

Shame we don’t get to see our lads against Trav and Coxy.

This Three Match Catch Up Blog is essentially about the trip to Liverpool for the Youth Cup game v Everton.
It's got Pubs & Beer & Slave Abolitionists & people pretending to be blind & match analysis and all the things you'd expect...
