Look, I haven't got a particular issue with Hughes (aside from the fact that if he can play for the Blades then so can I) but why oh why do we persist with players around the club who are well past their best.
But just have a read of Walsall v Blades reserves report from last night.
"On a poor pitch in testing conditions, neither side created much early on(e?) and the first meaningful action saw United replace Hughes, who was clearly suffering from a hamstring problem".
Injured he may be, but its not often a substitution is described as the first positive thing in a report.
Given the Corey Gregory (Academy) who replaced Hughes and Jordon Chappell (also Academy) both scored - isnt this the way to go?
