well what a load of good they were letting that tit on the pitch and making united look stupid on sky ( I suspect someone to say united players made us look stupid but :p) why didn't the stewards go after him????

STEWARDS OUT!!!!!!!!

To be honest Arsenal made us look stupid anyway.

Just made it worse when that tit came on.

True the stewards were shit though I think they were busy picking there nose.

A guy in front of us stood up and clapped the "fan" who ran on the pitch.

:shakehead:

Some around us started singing 'he's a blade'. I can only think he had finally snapped and seen enough of the fair on offer.

It could cost the club big time though.

I hope he gets a long ban to be honest.

I would imagine it will be a life long ban, and it is a serious offence, how did anyone know he wasnt going to physically attack Robson. On the plus side he came from the Cop and not 'our traditional 'area of trouble in the south stand.

me and my mate started off the wanker wanker wanker chant towards him but got drowned out by the tits cheering him on, idiots

cant understand why they cheered him.

It was like that fan who threw the season ticket at boro (Think it was McClaren)

i seriousley hope he gets hit by an 18 wheel lorry on his way home...and then the driver gets out...notices he was the one he had just seen on the telly..and parks his lorry right on him...and goes to the pub.

Thats my view :D

The actions of this one dickhead may cost the club a big fine. You can bet he will also get banned from the Lane, and I bet the dick isn't a season ticket holder - why would anybody with even a modicum of sense jeopardise their season ticket like that?

Fans can have a right to voice their opinion but 3-0 down to a good Arsenal time is not the time or place. We played, and gopt out played by superior pposition, i'm fairy sure we would've lost even if we had a different manager so why take it out on this game?

Outplayed by a side's reserves (they made just the 11 changes from their last League game), when we had of a side which beat them last year without a regular keeper for 30 minutes?

Never mind the last two matches in the league which took us to the dizzy heights of 19th in the second tier, that performance reminded me of how we were outclassed by Chelsea in a friendly under Heath.

Changes must be made as soon as possible or we'll be like other 'one season in the top flight wonders' like the Dingles, Swindon, and Bradford.

Again, in just over 30 years, we've had 5 in the top flight, and 6 in the bottom two. At present I see nothing but a return to where Bradford and Swindon languish.

The prick's actions are clearly bad, but hardly surprising, with regard to our club's plight. I doubt too much will happen to the club, save a rap on the knuckles.

All that goes to show is how well we've done against them in the past, some would say over-achieved. Whilst it was a side's reserves, this was the side top of the Premier League who are about the best in europe at the moment. A reserve side made up of the best youngsters in the world with a world cup winner in for good measure. These kids turn over the best, regularly.

We on the other hand, had our second choice keeper due to injuries and made 7 changes from the struggling team that played against hull. Completely changed the defence, midfield with 3 changes, with only a shockingly poor Tonge playing in the same position as has been the norm.

Changes must happen, but what changes are these? Should the manager go? (who would replace him?) should the players go? I can't for one second imagine Robbo sat them down and told the team the only players allowed to properly close down and tackle were Armstrong, Monty, Stead and Carney. I also don't for one second believe (given the way he used to play) that Robbo has told Tonge to make sure he stands about watching the match around him and when he does get the ball make sure he spins around 3 times before going backwards (even when not under pressure). Thats not the sort of player Robbo was and I can't see it being the kind of play he'd encourage.

These changes however don't need to happen because we lost to Arsenal in the cup, but because we need to start doing the business in the league.

I hope you are right, because we still have suspended sanctions and sentances hanging over us (as far as i'm aware) from the last few times these idiots decided to show off. It will have been surprising to most of the people watching at home, even the top clubs lose to Arsene's kids, without throwing the toys out of the pram at their manager.

i couldn't understand why fans were chanting robson out last night because although im not his biggest fan i new it was going to be tough last night and to be honest didn't expect a win i would have like to have seen a better performance though.

but then why did some people start singing one bryan robson and we love you robson

Completely agree with all those comments..... Think peoples comments about improvements were seriously premature from what i saw against Leicester and Hull City (Was at the games) The real test for me was not Arsenal the next two Home games we've got...

Take nothing away from Arsenal they were superb, but where was the fight, spirit or performance from us? Apart from a few no-one seemed to be up for it, Arsenal's players were first to every ball & when we did manage to get the ball we were sloppy and lost possession on many occasions it was embarrasing to see arsene wenger and assistant laughing at us i felt embarrassed myself...

Everyone is saying 'back to basics' the only reason it is 'back to basics' is because Robson cant get the best out of the players in the first place, it seems everything that made Sheffield United such a fantastic Club to support seems to be evaporating, dont get me wrong i will always be there and will always give support to the lads as i did singing my heart out at Leicester eg. But im very disappointed at the moment.... I just cant see where the changes are coming from every match seems to be the same :(

I don't think it was just because of last night mate. More of a gradual build up of all the crap and none enthusiastic performances that have gone on for most of the season.

can understand the fans frustration with our players not up for it.

o.k yeah they have a good team and got to the final last year, but sloppy marking, standing off players, no passion, no tackles no fight is a joke.

Someone said at work today that why blame the manager its the players on the pitch that do the work. If that was the case we should be picking up where we left off under warnock. he didnt do anything, it was the players, we should be playing like we used to do.

That's fair, but the worrying thing is the undercurrent of complete and utter hopelessness which pervades the stadium. With regard to our changes, I hope that was a "Let's have a proper look and sod this cup anyway." from Sornob. Also, on recent performances, playing Bennett instead of Paddy is no bad thing.

Agreed. There are only two changes which can happen as far as I can see. On one hand, a change of manager. Unlikely, especially as Chairman Kev won't want to admit defeat, but unless things pick up soon, the possibility will loom large. The only problem is who the hell would we get? The thought of Kidd in temporary charge scares me more than what we have at the moment.

On the other hand, play to our strengths. Revert to 4-4-2, etc. We simply don't have a midfield which can cope with 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2. Get the simple things right. Get it out wide and use pace. Get confidence higher and then experiment. He playing with the team he "wants", not the one we've actually got. Maybe we underestimated the effect relegation had on the squad, and ourselves, but by now, on the field, that should have been erased.

Whichever, something has to happen, and pretty damn quick.

Not that I'm condoning the wazzock's actions, but top sides probably aren't anywhere near as frustrated as we are at the moment.

the "fan" was stupid but we were all clearly fustrated and he did what most of us felt like doing!

Stupid! He was pathetic!

Playing Arsenal is a totally different class of football to playing a league game - why choose that game to show your frustration? Did anybody do that when we lost to arsenal at the Emirates?

bit different away from home.

Suppost to be our fortress and no one could be arsed to even put up a fight.

..but showing a protest against a Premiership team? Pathetic really - different class of football altogether

there not a premier team, was a bunch of youths about my age, 11 changes so not the first team either. granted they got to the final but we just laid down for them.

but "Arsenal" ARE a premiership team - and I'm quite sure that the same 11 could do as much damage to a Premiership team!

the "arsenal" team that play in the premiership has 11 different players on the pitch.

even if it was the first team 11 we still should be putting up a fight whatever.

No, he didn't. Most of us aren't the kind of fuckwit that runs onto a football pitch despite the knowledge that it's illegal.
Unless of course you are saying that you are?
Of the crowd that night there were many people applauding the aforesaid nobber. That doesn't mean they would also run onto the pitch, it doesn't mean they wouldn't either. I myself can agree with some of the sentiments shown towards Robson, but booing when we played Arsenal is, frankly, the act of a moron.
Yes, they put some kids out. Theo Walcott, who cost them something like £12 million. Didn't Denilson win a World Cup? Hardly the same as facing the local paperboys team is it?
We might have scored early, they got a lucky deflection, and to be honest we weren't the team full of inepts that some people are painting us as. We weren't brilliant by a long way, but we weren't total shite either.
We got outclassed by a very good ball-passing side.
Hopefully we can learn and improve from this. I sincerely doubt it, but I do hope that Robson can sort things out, otherwise the board have made a very big balls-up.
No doubt saturday will bring more boos, and indeed more booze, but that's a different thread.

i disagree keenzy - allthough they were a group of youngsters i think that team could play in the premiership and comfortably finish in the top 12.

Don't forget the young arsenal side beat newcastle and beat liverpool 6-3 in the semi's last year.

even if it was the first team 11 we still should be putting up a fight whatever.

Don't forget it was our reserve team and their team that beat a near full strength Newcastle team. And i would be expecting our 2nd team to be putting forward a strong case as to why they should be picked for the first team but we didn't see any of that.

... but regardless of all that

The guy that ran on the pitch was an idiot - hope he's banned for life - he certainly didn't do what I was thinking (I wasn't thinking "I'm gonna run on the pitch and attempt to throw my scarf at Robson)!!!!

Stewards need a good kicking - how the hell did he make it from Kop to South Stand without being stopped? Stewards all looked at each other, didn't seem to know what to do.

Lets just hope United won't be punished for it
