Now this is not a thread just having a go at our stewards as one of them is a long known school friend who happened to be born on the same day as me but.....

Today as I reached the ground the turnstile was blocked by 3 stewards looking at said turnstile totally blocking my way into the ground.

I put my hand on the shoulder of the one closest, steward number 72, as you would do in any crowd or busy pub to get past him.

He did not like this and started on me...said I was rude and that I should have asked him to move and that I should not have touched him said i'd pushed him. He was quite aggressive too.

I was very polite in my response telling him that i'd put my hand on his shoulder and he repeated I was not allowed to touch him.

All the while one of the supervisor stewards was stood there....the one with glasses and a beard....and he just looked at the ground.

Now i'm a pretty laid back guy but in any other circumstance this lad may of got a slap instead I told him twice he was out of order and should back off....but more important....

As a person who has been following the Blades since the late 60's the treatment I got today was shocking.

Perhaps the club should encourage fans into the ground and not block the fooking turnstiles!

If a steward can't stand being touched on the shoulder why is he employed????

ps....crap ref too! :D

They're supposed to be there to serve you, but really its about a few quid isn't it...

I think with a hand on his shoulder, he got off lightly. He ought to see what I have to put up with at forum football ;)

This sounds similar to my day, I put on my customary stewards outfit with no 72 on it and BAM! Some silver fox knobhead starts giving me grief, my boss wouldn't even back me up the gutless twat, I've been tacking crap from so called Blades fans for years but this was unbelievable. I should of slapped him while I had the chance.............. :o)

There was another bit of bother in the directors box today , were a guy had made comment to another silver fox about living in Belgium . Steward 72 was not involved in this one . . Big Mel Brannighan sorted it whistling football heaven.

When the bellend said you shouldn't have touched him you should have said "shut up you Fu#@ing Retard " or other polite phrases and walked off to another turnstyle.
Had a problem with one myself for trying to smuggle a 6 year old and the dangerous balloon she'd just got in club carpark a few years back. Wankers

That just sounds wrong in every way.

If it was going into the South Stand this is how the innocent can get arrested , court appearance , banning order . Silver fox did the right thing in keeping his council , never mind how wound up he was . We will all look out for the infamous steward 72 , who was bang out of order . What is a day out can turn into a nightmare. The guy wants reporting , what good it would do , i suppose nothing .

Default S24SU response to a problem

"Should have nutted him"

Had problems logging onto my laptop this morning

"should have nutted it"

Nothing wrong with being a steward I did it for the euros at the Bangkok Hilton in 96 but the premise was you had to do so many matches for the ladypigs in the premiership , it was great if they did anything wrong I wunt throw them out made them stop in and watch that pile of Crap :D
