I think he would still have a resale value at 31, so we wouldn't want to lose him on a free.
He's also shown he could step into a centre-back role once his engine starts to diminish.
For that reason, I think and hope that we tie him to the club until he's 32.
Maybe have the last year as our option based on appearances?

I'd request our blue and white loving friend to ask the same question at about 9.30pm on the night of the derby.

Asking questions like this fool no one, it won't be long before all their bluster is quietened as they see just how low they've sunk, compared to the strides the Blades have taken under Wilder and Knill. If you've further questions about United - how to correctly spell a player's name, comparing your top scorer (you do have one, don't you?) to ours etc - we'll be delighted to instruct you on all matters related to football.
