In anticipation of Sunday, I have been looking up some of our history in the FA Cup and found this gem.
In our first ever season 1889-90, after battling our way through 5 FA Cup qualifying matches (including a replay) plus a first round win over Burnley, we were drawn at home to Bolton. However, we were offered, and accepted, £40 to switch the game to Bolton where the home side scraped home 13-0, our record defeat.
Still £40 is £40.
