Best diver I have seen in years. About time we got some luck, right in front of me I would have been furious if that was against us.

If it was a dive why did their defender go down as well? A tangle of legs, surely?

Yeah it wasn't a dive. He tripped him and he went down.

Maybe Boggy listened to Webb's advice to Blackpool.

"Howard Webb was here to go over some refereeing decisions.

"And he told us where we were going wrong.

"He spoke to me about why I didn't get a foul against Manchester City when Tevez caught me on the edge of the box.

"He said I was too honest and stayed on my feet. He said if I had gone down it would make the decision easier to give.

"In that respect, we are too naive. Most of us have come through the Championship, a mostly honest game so to speak.

"Honest as in you do your best to stay on your feet and try to continue playing.

"In the Premier League, if you fall over you tend to get decisions.

"We are not going to play-act, but we have to be less naive and go down under a challenge. Not make a meal of it, but show there's a foul."

To be honest i don't give a shit whether he dived on or not. It was a soft penalty on Saturday but it gained us a point. We've had some real refereeing shockers this season, and it will take more than a couple of boggy dives to redress the balance.

I don't want our players diving and thankfully I don't think he did on either occasion. Kudos to Mr Kettle for the award - he was miles away.

Clear penalty, really, really stupid challenge by the defender on a player going away from goal.

Didn't see tonights, but on Sat he went down very easily after managing to run into the Millwall defender.

I don't like to see it, but have to admit that I was desperate to see a goal on Sat and tonight... I guess my morals can wait

On Saturday he genuinely ran into the defender - the only question being was the defender deliberately blocking him? Not a dive by my definition but not necessarily a pen either.

Tonight was a shoulder charge at best. Were I sit was so close you could almost touch him.
Everyone around me was well happy.
Boggy sold it and the ref bought it

Had a good view from the kop and seen it on tv, clear penalty, stupid challenge.

I'll have to look again then Len. But around me to a man we were well happy with what looked like a wrong decision.

Shocking decision........... by the defender ,what the fuck was he doing ?
nailed on

Boggy was clearly pushed so had every right to go down. The Millwall pen was soft but this was a 100% penalty.

Well Lester did it often enough!!

I wads thinking the same thing. Jack Lester was very good at winning penalties and tucking them away. Had a knack of tricking defenders ..... and referees.

There is a fine line between diving and clever play from an attacking forward. If there is (strong - or nay actually) contact, a leg stuck out or a collision it is worth going down. Bogdanovic clearly has a knack of going down well. Both penalties have been soft in my opinion. Still, the defenders have committed to poor challenges and Boggy has exploited them. It is an art. Fortunately we needed it, as the goals are not going to come from anywhere else. And like AlienWoodward says 'it is about time we had a bit of luck'.

Dive or not, what confidence! Did you all see him posing for the Kop having won the penalty, before he had taken it? He did the same against Millwall too. Poor bloke didn't have anyone to celebrate with him afterwards though :D

No that's what you call a dive. It's either a foul or not a foul, if he is exploiting something then he is going to the floor on purpose. That's a dive not an art.

It can be both a foul and a dive, surely? IE, the defender makes illegal contact, but not enough to send the attacker to the deck. To get the freekick/penalty, the attacker goes to ground of his own accord.

In times of yore when men were men and football was a game for them, it wouldn't have been within sniffing distance of a penalty. In fact, if he'd have gone down like that against Norman Hunter/Mike Doyle/Roger Hind/Eddie Colqhoun etc. they'd have probably stamped on him for good measure and the ref would have applauded them for it.

Sadly in todays game for tarts and cheats, it was a stonewall "feel the contact and go down" effort. Says everything about todays players and fans that we accept it as standard practice.

Don't get me wrong by the way, I'm not endorsing or condoning it. I just meant that in theory one incident can be both a foul by the defender and a dive by the attacker.

If you were that close you would be able to read his shirt and see Bogdanovic doesn't have an H in it.

Well spotted, and just goes to show that Alien should not be allowed to ref and his judgment is flawed.

Ah you see, it can still be a foul and a player go down easy. The player goes down easy to ensure he gets the foul that should be awarded if he stays on his feet, which probably wouldn't be awarded if he stayed on his feet. If you get my meaning.

I'm not qualified to ref so I don'r ref. Maybe my jugment is flawed, a bit like yours with the crap "brief match report" the other night. We deserved a point my arse.
Maybe you should stop the crap brief match reports and leave them to someone who can spell, punctuate and make them interesting like Deadbat does.

I actually thought the pen on Saturday was borderline obstruction and an indirect freekick, but obstruction doesn't seem to exist anymore
