Spurs sniffing?

For 3 mil! Ha

They can have him for 9 mil cash lump sum.

The great thing about the likes of Naughton and Walker is that even if the club do want to sell them on the cheap, they're Blades and if they're anything like us Blades then they'd never want to play for another club except the Blades

Yes but if somebody offered to quadruple your wages and gauruntee you Premiership footie - week in week out with the addition of European football & the possiblity of winning the FA or Carling cup.

Thats why we lose players. Who wants to play in the top half of the Championship when the others are on offer? I'm sorry but Blade or no Blade i'd play for Tottenham anyday!

Let's just hope we hold out for as much money as possible from them. Jagielka was worth more than £4m & Beattie, don't even get me started.

I'd agree with this completel.y

Yes we all dream about playing for United etc, but the reality is that if someone came in waving PL football, chance of playing in Europe and a lot higher wages, you'd jump at the chance.

Walker and Naughton won't be on that high of a wage, so if Spurs offered them £1 million a year they'd be off in an instat, and even then they would be one of the lower earners at that club.

At the end of the day, it's a job, and if Naughton gets offered a lot more money for a top-half Premier League team, I'm sure he'd jump at the chance - as would all of us.

BUT like Cranie in the U-21 they would likely be subs at best, so bench-warming may not be that great an attraction right now as they will likely be in the Premiership one way or another next year.

That's where United need to be smart and hold out for either more money or the option to have them loaned back to us for a season or two.

Obviously if they fit into their new teams plans immediately, so be it. We'll take £10m each

A young man at 19 offered riches beyond his wildest dreams, come on, what is he going to do if it materialises, same as every one of us here. Declare you are a Blade through and through and move to Spurs.

Interesting opinions, i'm not saying that i'd be bitter towards them, quite the opposite, I'm proud everytime I see Jags have a good game. I wouldnät begrudge them their chance and if it improves their England chances then good on them.

But personally I wouldn't want to play for a team that I didn't care about. Theres a lot of teams I hate theres a few I like... but only 1 that i'd want to play for.

Its not like we're Barnsley...we get 25000 every week and have a great ground, the majority of our players will be on 5k a week at least, 250k a year plus bonus' so they won't be hard up by any stretch... Its just a question of how much cash you want. Hence E'to not signing for Man City.

Plus the mouth watering possibility of doing a Jimmy Muir in 'When Saturday comes' ....and pulling a stripper in Roxy's! Its what dreams are made of!

If Real Madrid want to give me £100,000 a week to move their charcoal about on a big flash new forklift I'll be off like a shot, and loyalty can leave through the door marked "I'll Do Owt If The Cash Is Right."

Spurs are still keen on Naughts, according to SSN. What I want to know is, who would you rather see Naughts go to, if he is set to leave BDTBL?

Everton or Spurs?

Everton.

Don't really like spurs BUT if they pay more money then they can have him.

I like what Moyes is doing at Everton, building a good young squad. Also he buys a lot of British players. Thats a better club overall to join, them or Villa for me

With a potential bidding war, I'm only interested to see what the highest bid would be... if Burnley were to come in with an offer of 10million, I wouldn't mind him joining even them but if it's just between Everton and Spurs and both clubs bid the same amount, I would want him to join Everton.

Hopefully a bidding war will take place, and then we'll gain even more money via the sale. I'd be sad to see the back of him as I rate him very highly, but if we can push out for £6m+ if there is a little bidding war, then that would be a very good bit of business by us.

I don't give a monkey's where he goes to be honest. If there's going to be a bidding war then he can go to whoever coughs up the most, be it Everton, Spurs or Madonna.

Agreed SV. And I won't particularly be following his career after he leaves us either. I support Sheffield United, not whichever team we flog our players to.

I think for him he would be better at Everton, they have bought a lot of good championship players over the years and made them into good premiership players.

I say best of luck to Naughton, wish he would stay one more season at least afterall he is only young. But i'm sure he will push his way into the England squad.

The thing is as a footballer you never know for sure whats round the corner, and like with any job you should grab opportunities as they come towards you.

The Mirror are reporting today that we'd be interested in a sell and loan back.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...-walker-off-to-spurs-in-2010-115875-21515811/

Tottenham want to sign Sheffield United's young right-back Kyle Walker - but leave him in the Championship for a year.

Spurs supremo Daniel Levy sees the defender as a signing for the long-term and is happy for him to continue his apprenticeship at the Blades.

Walker (above) has burst into Kevin Blackwell's team and allowed the Bramall Lane club to let fellow full-back Kyle Naughton open talks with Everton over a £6million switch. Blades do not want to lose Walker, but a sell-and-loan-back arrangement may suit them.

I wonder if they need to borrow some cough medicine from one of our players to help ease their sniffing?
