That was a relegation performance if ever ive seen one! I am still with Speed, though, and believe we need to give him more time.

Yesterday was neither a passing game or a long-ball 'playing to a system' type of setup. The players didnt have a clue what to do. We have stopped scoring our share of 'percentage' goals - you know, the ones where the ball bounces around in the box and hits somebody on the arse and goes in. Just because we are now trying to play more football doesnt mean to say that when the chips are down you cant put bodies in their box and pump the ball in. When we get a throw in now the opposition have a cigar, its just so easy to defend set pieces against us.

Ok, we have injuries, but at times like this we need to be a bit cuter. I would love to see flowing, passing football, but if we cant play it, then dont try! I will judge Speed when (if) hes had the opportunity to bring 3 or 4 of his own players in - players he genuinely wants and are capable of playing the football he believes in. Until then Speedo, just do whatever you can to avoid relegation - a goal off somebodies arse would do for me at the moment.

It really would help if we could learn to cross a ball too! (Monty aside).

So many times today we had 3/4 men in the box, only for Yeatesy to pick out the only area in the entire 18 yard box that we didn't have a player near.

I agree with you on the setup/way we played, whatever he was trying just didn't work yesterday unfortunately.

why should bloody monty be given special treatment.. he is our BIGGEST PROBLEM

I simply meant that his crossing actually found a man and created a goalscoring opportunity is all. It'd also be slightly unfair not to mention Boggy picking out Cresswell in the first half. Had Cresswell been on the end of Montys cross, we might have scored.

I really hope that the powers that be don't see Monty as our biggest problem yesterday, if so, we are in trouble.

Yes he's not a world beater, and we should always look to be bringing in better, but without him yesterday we'd have been much worse. He played the position of about 4 different players in the second half.

monty cant pass two yards.. give me a break

Whilst I really don't want to get into this again, the fact that we are discussing his cross right to Bogdanovic's head alone shows that you are clearly wrong on him not being able to play the ball to a blades player.

Monty did well second half yesterday and created two of the best openings we had, no ifs, no buts, them's the facts.
But we do not need him and Ertl in the team at the same time.
We desperately need another passer in the middle to support Britton or to play instead if he's injured.
I'd be tempted to see if we can get Tongey back on loan.

two completed passes in 3 seasons and he's zidane

That's not really what we said is it?

If you think he's completed two passes in 3 seasons then I'd suggest you take a look at something like prozone. You might not like what you see though.

i'm not arguing about this any more .. it is boring isn't it?.. but the beers are on me when he leaves

Yesterday was all on Speed for me.
why 4-4-2. Speed if you start listening to the assylum you will be gone quicker than any of us would like. He has some tough decions to make including players who can fuck right off and also stick with his princicple of 4-3-3.

The midfield have to do more than just pass to go upwards they have to step up with some scoring of their own its not just up to the strikers.
Cresswell with 2
Evans with 2
Calve with 1
Where are the midfielders?
