Only 17k? That is very poor if that includes the 4k Southampton are bringing.

That was a couple of days ago, mate. The fact is though, however admirable Southampton may be (and they are), they are not attractive opposition for the floating fan. In addition we have had an inordinate number of home games lately, some uninspiring performances and we are approaching Christmas. It all adds up to a lower crowd than we might have expected.

I would expect 20,000 plus by match day.
