Been suggested a number of times over the years, I personally prefer "his" other song though, despite the fact it's not original :)

I thought his other song just had the one lyric: "booooo". Guess that's gone out of fashion... :)

I'd hazard a guess you realise, but just in case... :D

I meant...

Oh Stephen Quinn, you are the love of my life,
Oh Stephen Quinn, I'd let you shag my wife,
Oh Stephen Quinn, I want ginger hair toooooo

There's a magical player,
down at the Lane,
he's ginger he's irish
we all know his name
he's called Stephen Quinn

personally I'm a bit of an old fart. I like

He's here, he's there, he's every flipping where, Steven Quinn, Steven Quinn

Or what about..."quinnny" clap clap clap "quinny" clap clap clap "quinny" etc etc

You never know, it might catch on.....

Easily adaptable to:

He’s here, he’s there, and he’s got ginger hair Stephen Quinn, Stephen Quinn!

Nice simple one, bit of a mouthful

Stephen Quinn, Stephen Quinn, Stephen Stephen Quinn
He's got red hair but we don't care
Stephen Stephen Quinn

Bladey in red

Tune of pet shop boys its a sin

For everything we long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too
Its a Quinn

It's an endlessly fascinating thing about football how the same player can be so different given confidence and a system which suits him.

I wonder how many players really enjoyed playing under Blackwell (final season), or Adams (at all). A manager should try to take the fear out of his players, not add to it.

I always thought that there was a footballer in Stephen Quinn, but a lot of the time he seemed to be playing without confidence, and just playing to his managers instructions rather than playing his own game. That is why he ended up getting nicknamed Elpiton, and didn't really seem to shine.

Yup - when he first got in the side as a kid he played a couple of games in centre-midfield. His quick feet and short passing were refreshing, but he also gave the ball away a few times. And in fairness he still does.

But you get the feeling managers have tried to cover his weaknesses rather than encourage his strengths. Wilson's mantra seems to be to more accepting of the inevitable mistakes in the belief they're better eradicated by confidence than fear. At least I hope that's the case.

Yeah, i think several managers got it wrong with Quinny.

Robson never seemed to rate him, Blackwell concentrated on the defensive side of his game, and tried to use him as a dog of war. Don't think Speed or Adams ever got the best oout of him but we did a small improvement in him.

I think he's still hurting from last year and carries extra motivation/determination to put the wrong right.
