...had to resort to cheating to beat a league one side.

Minimal if any contact .......................... dive all day long for me, silly challenge though.

If you can't see that was play acting you need your eyes testing.

He made the most of it, he went down like he had been shot.

Although Hammond did not get the ball so it was always going to be a penalty especially at Old Trafford.

Made the most of the contact but it's still contact, modern day football, go down if there is a touch especially in the box.

Shouldn't have gone to ground - it's obvious the referee is going to look for any excuse to give them a penalty.

Also to be honest that is exactly what I would want our players to be doing. Any contact in the box go down, get the penalty!

Unless boring the opposition to death is against Fifa regulations?

Are you serious ?

We set up to defend against a team way above our standing away from home and almost got what we deserved.

We have players with a lot less ability than Man U and the plan was to defend and maybe have a go on the break - What did you expect.

This is what's wrong with football today. I actually thought he'd been shot, probably a result of the climate we live in these days.

Hammond slides in and gets a full foot worth of studs on his left shin. They showed a different angled replay on TV which shows it clearly. He made a meal of it but if he'd not and they didn't get a penalty I'm sure he'd have been less than popular.

I wasn't referring to us...

He made the most of it but you can't go flying in like Hammond did and make contact in the box. He should have just stood him up because we were comfortable in terms of numbers back.

Sorry, watched it again.

Same conclusion.

Definate cheating. Powder puff wanker player who made a meal of it.

Fucking disgrace to the Premiership.

There was an earlier incident where Rooney could easily have taken a dive in the box if he wanted to cheat - but no he stayed on his feet.

Funny though that Paul Scholes is sick of watching Man Utd.

Looking at the replay it was a penalty, yes he made the most if it but no more than Sharp did against Peterborough.

It's a fucking penalty and has been for ever. He made contact with the man and not the ball.

Too many people talking utter horseshit as usual. We were brilliant but ultimately lost to a completely legit penalty. Ref made the right decision. I don't see how he had any other choice.

Couldn't help think at the time whilst Scholes and Hargreaves were going on about the Man U performance Clough must have been stood there in the middle thinking 'that was me last year'

And just like Clough he won't be in post for the following season.

It was a penalty under today's rules. Sorry to those that can't accept it but I'm afraid Depay played for it and got it. Hammond didn't need to dive in but that's the rush of blood you sometimes get in those situations.

They did well, it's a shame but it was a penalty....unfortunately.

This is what its like to be Man Utd fan and it also shows how quiet their home support actually is as well.

It was great that during the entire match all you could hear were Blades fans chanting. :)

Here's my thought on it
If it had been Che Adams on the receiving end he would definitely have been given a yellow card for simulation.
