Slow Pace of Play

Outside of defenders playing like they’re blindfolded, and our midfield vying for UK traffic cone of the year, the speed of our play is bafflingly slow. We’re building up at a snails pace and, Ndiaye aside, rarely counter at speed. We keep letting teams set, then have to play through 10 men. It has to be tactical? It’s so obvious.

We’ve been slow for years, because we’ve had the same slow players for years.
Other than Illy and maybe Brewster we’ve got no quick players.
We’ve got nothing to hurt teams with when we break.
Norwood, Sander and Doyle must be the slowest midfield in the league.
