Stick any complaints, suggestions or comments in here for inclusion at the next SLO meeting.

The previous meeting's report can be found here: COMING SOON

We've had to schedule the next meeting in case of play-off fun and games.

On the table so far:

Policing. We've just had Operation Overkill at Barnsley. By the time the next meeting rolls round, we'll have also seen Donny and Chesterfield visit the Lane.

Season tickets. What's your experience of the renewal process? Was pretty painless for me but I'd be interested to hear your comments.

Points from previous meeting:

* Foxy was going to do some work on the Data Protection stuff to hand in.
* Update on 0870 number. As it stands, they are breaking the law by not providing a local-rate number for post-contract dealings i.e. customer service/complaints.

Re the 0870 number, has anyone tried looking on saynoto0870.com to see if there is an alternative?

Not just policing, but the whole Metronome thing at Barnsley was terrible. I think there's some people still in the queue now for a beer.

Fair play, hold up visiting fans in a large room close to the ground, but either a) employ more staff and/or make more temporary bars, or b) give us a couple of other places we can go to, so there's not just a mass there (although, in fairness, capacity wasn't the issue).

Ticket office closed on Good Friday. Was unable to get tickets for Barnsley once I found out Thursday evening we could go. Tried everything Friday and Saturday morning. Now our ticket office was open on Saturday. Yet because of police and footballing safety steward no tickets were to be sold on the day of the game. I phoned Barnsley ticket office for this info by the way. They seemed not best pleased that our ticket office did not open Friday. ( I do not know if theirs did). There were many tickets left available for Blades to have yet accessing them was the problem. I suggested to Barnsley ticket office that I could bring ID for us and our season tickets/memberships to buy tickets. It seems there could be many ways that tickets could be purchased for such a game on the day but the footballing safety officer seems to be the issue. If tickets were available from our ticket office on the day of the game but only to those registered with the club, what would be the problem with that?

For a very long and boring reason (long story short; I went into the job market this time last year, so couldn't commit to a season ticket) we haven't had season tickets this year. It has been a slightly eye opening (and watering!) experience.

No big thing, but I'd question the wisdom of the £2 match day charge on junior tickets (when purchased with an adult ticket). It takes me pretty much the same amount of time to buy 1 adult ticket and 2 junior as it would just 1 x adult ticket and I still only take up one place in the queue, so why 3x the extra charge of a single adult? This isn't something that will affect me next season, but I can't help but think it might put some families off, especially due to how its charged (i.e. effectively added as a sort of match day "fine", rather than tickets sold before match day being discounted!).

TBH, I think the club does great at making kids feel included and welcoming families, and I have little to complain about. But I think it would be a shame if some are put off coming because of a small match day charge on tickets (or feeling aggrieved at the unexpected hike in prices).

Like I said, I'm not moaning for personal gain here (by the time any changes are made we'll hopefully have season tickets), It's about the bigger picture really; future fans (and income), etc.

Oh aye, and while I remember, losing all your points when you no longer have a season ticket? That's harsh!

I wrote to the club after the Chesterfield ticket episode, and was told categorically by Carrie Sampson that no personal details were passed on to Chesterfield FC by SUFC

There's a normal number for promotions, and they are next door to the ticket office, but they are unable to connect you to the ticket office

I don't have a problem with buying online but if any issue arrises that needs to be sorted at short notice it's infuriating, especially if you live abroad and only have a mobile phone.

Renewed today online (big Blade me ;) )

Whole process took about 1 minute, the only thing I'd say (and I think this applies to single game sales as well) is that because I've brought tickets for others in the past that they show up on my initial order page by default. I think this would be better suited to having just my ticket show initially with the option to add registered friends, rather than having them all show and then removing them.

That should not happen. I still have mine.

There is also a normal number for the front desk. Sue used to be on that desk (I don't know if she still is). She used to put you through to the ticket office. It seems like after a while when more people got hold of that number she was instructed not to and just gave out the 0871 number. It would be nice if we could find out if that was the case. I cannot see them altering the phone system so that access like that was stopped.

A question worth asking is; Why is there a £5 discount for renewing on line and then when you buy a ticket normally you get charged £1? It is as though they want to encourage you because it is less work for them. Well it is also less work for them for a normal match so why the charge?

What's cheaper for the club, one charge and you're done for the season, or posting out and paying to process your card x number of times?

What is to post out if you have a card? If I take my card in midweek for a weekend game in to the ticket office they do not charge, so they don't charge because i brought my smiley personal face in?
