Seriously, you are using a James Shield article to support your opinion. Do either of them confirm we interviewed either of them?
Wouldn't we have had to ask permission from Rochdale?
Yes, the Yorkshire Post explicitly stated that Robins, Hill and Wilson had reached the final stage of the interviewing process.
If Hill was given permission to talk to Barnsley, why could he not have been given permission to talk to us too?
To be fair to Shield, he consistently said from day one that Wilson was high on McCabe's wanted list.
Even when everyone else was dismissing it as a ludicrous suggestion and a total non-starter.
Ian Appleyard at The Yorkshire Post is a respected journalist and was instrumental in uncovering the Sheard debacle at Wednesday.
Both of them have better access to players, staff and board members at United than 99.9% of people who post on here.
If they both say that Hill was on the final shortlist with Robins and Wilson, I tend to believe them rather than your simple "hunch" that he wasn't.
If you have any actual evidence that Hill wasn't considered let's hear it. Who do you think was on the shortlist? Who do you think was interviewed?
