After a first half in which we were tied down to a 1 goal deficit I had little hope we could break the restraints of slow ponderous play. Derby had less possession and territory but manage to punish the hapless and subservient blades.

Cometh the hour, and the man some call pascal. Slav made an agressively motivated move supported by is right hand man Chema. The subs flocked from the bench so they could get there turn. On came experience heads in the form of fleck and sharp eager to impress they gave has good as they got. Freeman used is head to drill it in, before, Sharp unsure of the space he was awarded caressed the ball past the derby back line.

Anyway, All in all things to improve on, but a win is a win. The board has got to back Slav because without it, I don’t just want success to come from cup games this season. Any outstanding performers tonight?

UTB! Slavs subs onto Luton we go.

Didn't listen to all of it on radio. But commentators said Lopata played well again and Freeman played better once he got his goal and a more accurate 25 yard shot might have got him another goal right at the death, set up by Ndiaye as well.

Lopata, Freeman and Brunt played well, Gordon too.

Fleck changed the game when he came on. Bogle ok in patches.

Verrips and Robinson were a train wreck.

So RObinson keeps his spot then. Superb.

Verrips looks really flat footed and not very agile, the problem is without another keeper in, his backup is equally uninspiring. Lopata should be seen as Egans understudy, I’d be more worried about losing him than Jebbo. Bogle seems to be losing his way in this side, it’s a shame because he’s shown glimpses of talent.

Gag on that, Derby!

Dont blame him, you cant expect someone whos probably one of the most talented players in his postion at his age to perform well when he barely plays

His work for the first goal was very smart an overlooked by almost everyone here.

Whereas Baldock just turns back on himself and passes backwards because he can't beat a man or cross, Bogle brought the ball slowly inside dragging two Derby players with him which created a chasm down the right for McGoldrick and Gordon to exploit.
