Given that our goalkeeper flaps more than a pissed up seagull, should we be looking at replacing him now, rather than at the end of the season when his contract is, as far as I am aware, up?

Personally I'd give Long a go, assuming we can't afford to finance a replacement. He can't be any worse.

Anyone can go in net for all I care they surely must be better than Simmo.

It's pretty simple. New goalkeeper in, drop Simonsen and send Long out to get some experience.

Whenever we only have Calamity and Long, we can't ship Long out on loan.

Wilson is clearly wary of denting Simmonsen's confidence but what is he doing to Long's by not giving him a chance when he keeps seeing Simmo make mistake after mistake. And if Wilson doesnt think that Long is ready yet, which may be the case, what happens if he ever has to come on as sub - he'll enter the pitch knowing that his manager doesn't really think that he's up to it!

Cant we play rush goalie?

We would do better. Seriously SS' confidence on those balls is so crap that if Wilson does insist on playing him he should tell him to stay on his line and let Collins and Maguire deal with them.

Once it starts it's a vicious circle. If he plays on Tuesday the fans will boo him and be on his back, which in turn will affect him even more. About time we nipped it in the bud (although you could argue we're way past that point).

Personally I'm loathe to consider chucking George Long in at the deep end with the games that we've got in the run up to Xmas .
Here's one solution Mr Wilson

As of yesterday , Watford are looking to send out their 2nd choice keeper out on loan to keep him active and alert .

RENE GILMARTIN .... 24 yrs.... 6ft 5" ... Watford and Republic of Ireland U19 & U21 international keeper....started career at Walsall .

He's only been wriggling his arse on the bench week in and week out because Scott Loache has dug himself such a deep trench in front of the goal .

C'mon Danny .....he's AVAILABLE NOW ... pick up the phone and at least give him the once over ....preferably before Tuesday nights game !!!

Any other ideas Bladesmen ....... ?

There will be plenty of young decent keepers doing nothing at Premiership clubs.
