Not really a fan of any of the sides left in the world cup. So am supporting Paraguay because they play in Red and White just like the wizards at BDTBL.

I'm supporting Uruguay because it's a country of just 3.5m people which, despite the odds, always produce a good team. Their genetics must be wonderful - I'll have to marry a Uruguayan some day.

Oh, that and the Uruguay flag has a great big smilie face in it.

:)

I thought the ref was a bit leniant last night but if ever Hendo wanted to see what he should be doing, he should have watched the guy who came on for Spain last night. Held the ball up, was physical but fair but rarely gave a foul away. We'll gloss over the two missed chances :-)

Interesting that Villa continues to score whilst playing wide left as well, very much the role Wardy should aspire to I think.

I'm following Uruguay too, because I love Diego's flowing locks..........

Was impressed by that guy too Jim. He made an immediate impact and was pivitol in Spain winning. He gave the centre backs a real hard time, whilst being fair. Did you see Carvalho rip his shirt to bits? He just got on with it, no complaints. Sure he missed 2 good chances, but the first one was a great save and the 2nd was very unlucky (difficult header and just wide).

Thought the ref had a stormer last night. Sure he missed a few (petty) fouls and probably could have given 1 or 2 yellow cards, but he did his best to let the match flow. He tried to play the advantage a lot and took no prisoners in terms of diving. He probably should have dished cards out if they were not fouls, but the way he just said get on with it when wankers like Ronaldo and crew were trying it on (playing gor fouls) was top. Well done!

I'd like to see them win it, because I like how they roll. And they have a snortin', whorin', no-necked madman at the helm.

(and ity's sky blue and white, far enough away from The Bacon Boyz).

I'm with you on that Oreyt. I know I shouldn't but ....... I have a soft spot for Madadonna. Just can't help but like him. saying that I think i'd prefer Spain to win it. Although I'd be hppy for Uruguay, Argentina, Germany or Brazil to win it because they are all very good footballing sides. I'm just enjoying the rest of the tournament as a mutual! :)

I've been a Uruguay fan each time they've reached the World Cup finals since 1966 and bought a Uruguay scarf before the tournament, couldn't get a shirt for love nor money. Nickname La Celeste, usually renowned for clogging and getting sent off but this year playing really well. I'm a bit apprehensive about Ghana, a young team and full of energy.

What are the chances of them not only getting to the final, but also winning?

Ah, the romance of the Cup!!!

I'd say little chance of either. In reality they've over achieved this year. Should start as slight favourites against Ghana but if things aren't going well get ready for fireworks and red cards. Should they beat Ghana then that will be their best performance since 1962 I believe.
