This isn't a ched thread.

I discussed this with a mate in Japan this weekend.

If these sponsors do pull out, I have no issue with it. It's their prerogative. Then an option is fan sponsorship as a gesture of support for the club, not individuals, but the club

Who'd be up for putting some cash in? Amount of donation could be discretionary and private.

An alternative would be for the club to pick a charity and put their name on the shirts

How much do you think the full cost would be Swiss, and would the club accept.

Shirts look better without them anyway.
I don't think it will come to these extremes anyway. I'm hoping the whole situation would fuck off and leave us enjoying the football.

Or how about the Prince coughing up some money and his business doing the sponsoring? I'm all for fan sponsorship whme the fans actually own the club.

I was thinking that too
Perhaps a logo of a toilet roll to show how shit shirt sponsors look anyway.

Maybe they could dish out free big roll on the kop and we can see the streamers as in days of old.

Semi related I guess. I've always thought that individual shirt sponsors get their names in the programme but that's it. Rather than having a rear shirt sponsor why don't we start putting the individuals sponsor on the back of their shirts. That would be a unique move and I'm sure the shirt sponsors would back it.

If 20,000 blades put 7 quid in, I reckon that would be more than what JHS paid per season.
What if 10,000 put 14 quid in, not trying to test anyone's pocket, but it may be easier. And would the club go along with it, seeing as people would construe it as being ched apologists.

It's not a matter of cost is it? If a sponsor pulls out it leaves a void.

The fans would merely show solidarity and support for the club at a time when commercial partners pull out, fans show the club loyalty with a gesture. The club recognises this by putting their logo on or the chosen sponsors logo. The fans money could go to the charity

thought we could re name the bramall lane end the Mike Tyson stand ( another sporting role model) just to really piss off the feminists who gathered outside the town hall

not mant forgiving peple about , I remember this country being Christian , but some seem to be hell bent on sharia law , and want to cut his todger off

As I said this is not a ched thread.

I'm pretty sure if John Holland do one then the club will have secured a new sponsor. Fairly certain Topspring would be up for sponsoring all 3 or someone like shout or mbuzz

Yeah I'm sure they would, but perhaps it would be a better gesture from the club to step away from the money side of things and being dictated by sponsors

why ? wednesday advertise Azerbijhan for free

a smart car dealer will think , we can use this to withdraw money but the advertisings already there , cynical , or how things work these days ?

The question would be what are the alternatives to Swiss's (very good) idea? If some entity will pay more, fine, but if its Blades Fans for £25 or nowt, they might as well take the £25. They could donate the amount of our sponsorship to charity.

As I've stated previously, we should terminate our sponsorship DBL & Holland agreements with immediate effect

The club could fund new sponsorship to the end of the season by offering each fan a sponsor free Adidas shirt for, say £25. If I remember correctly, when Newcastle directors said a few silly things, the shirts cost about £5 each to produce

I'd buy one: I don't normally :)

Ironic really, as your average pig fan wouldn't have a clue where Azerbaijan is. They think it's where the Don Valley stadium was.

And remember the liar lee strafford putting childrens hospital on owls shirt for free to try and hide the fact they were up shit creek and using tax money to pay their players, very moral

Whilst the media spotlight is on us, i would say that any actions by ourselves to terminate deals would look like sour grapes. We'd be better off waiting until they make the first move. Not to mention that if we pulled the plug there would be contractual penalties. Better to respect their decisions and allow them to do what they choose. But i agree, we shouldn't be dictated to by commercial sponsors when they don't like something which is football related.

If they pull the plug themselves however i would offer every blade that bought the shirt with the deserting sponsor on the chance to return the shirt they have and exchange it, free for one that doesn't have that sponsor on it.

If the sponsors pull out because we've employed a rapist, then I won't be rewarding McCabes umpteenth atrocious decision by stepping in to help compensate for his incompetence.

He can justify his own madness with his own wallet.

Who's paying for that then?

Here's an alternative - don't employ a convicted rapist who's had 6 good months in his whole career?

Either I,or lots of others, have lost the plot here.

a very good point, what sort of money have John Holland and DBL logistics paid does anyone know?

If this does come about, then it would be time to resurrect the "how to remove the logo" thread.

What if we got promoted, and the next deal could have been worth "ten times" this one, but nobody takes it up?

It's more about future loss than it is about today.

Someone said on Bladesmad that DBL is £100k over two years with a box on the john street included.

That's not really the point of what this thread is about, it's about if we end up without a sponsor because of circumstances, then what's the best thing to do for the rest of this season...
