Not sure who is between Ted and Len, also on the far right back row, probably youth players that LSF might identify. I think front left is Keith Furphy.

Bloody hell, if you don't know, Silent, what chance do the rest of us have?

It's not John Conroy is it?

Timothy Dalton and Jack Black flanking Jim Brown at the front. 😄

Jim Conroy, you mean? Dont think so, I spoke to Jim once or twice at a bus stop in Dronfield a few years after he left us.

Was it Jim? I thought there was a John as well? My addled memory is not up to much though.

Gary France? One of the Irish lads that came over? One was Peter Dornan, can't remember the name of the other.

Jim from Glasgow, no relation to Steve or Martin

Not sure who they are off top of my head...
One on right has a look of Jimmy Conroy Jon Bon ll but I don't think it's him.

Silent, I'm pretty sure Martin & Jimmy Conroy were bothers. They hung around in Sheffield after their release from United and both worked at Midland Bank, Deacon House, (building across from where Decathalon is these days).
They both played for Midland Bank in Hatchard League in late 70's, I played against them several times.

I can remember seeing Hemsley batting for Worcestershire in the early 70's, on the old John Player League BBC2 programme on a Sunday. Alongside Aston Villa goalie Jim Cumbs, if my memory serves me right. But was our Ted the wicket keeper?

Totally irrelevant I know, but I used to play cricket for Woodsetts, and John flynn played in the same team as me

I have to be honest he was before my time and I didn't remember him, I expected he was probably a fringe player

However since found out he was a regular for a while

I found myself staring down Lawrie Madden once, who had just come in to bat. I thought to myself, he's getting some chin music first ball. I hurtled in at full pelt and let go the shortest, slowest, tamest long-hop you could imagine, to which he casually rocked back and nonchalantly swatted it away past square leg for an easy 3. Served me right for getting ideas above my station. 😆 Played against him a few times after that, nice bloke.

Is it steve faulkener centre half silent
Steve Faulkener. Name from the past but think he had vivid blonde hair, same hair style though. Use to watch him in the reserves when you could get in for free. Decent player (from memory) but no chance in front of Eddie Colquhoun. If memory serves.

Whoa. Don't be mentioning that name on here.........😳

I think you’re right!!
I worked in deacon house at that time

Ted was an all rounder. Bowled medium pace. Rodney Cass was the wicketkeeper

As did my wife 🙂
My first job!!
Did 6 months training including 3 months in a posh London hotel, thought it was brilliant!!
All part of the big move to new hq at griffin house
Lots of Londoners relocated and we found there were no chances of promotion as the Londoners got all the jobs
Turned into a dead end
