Cheers Walthy, beautiful video, love the crowd scenes and the packed Kop..can't imagine what it would be like to bring home the cup now...it would be mental.

Them lucky buggers from Sheffield in the wembley crowd waiving their bowler hats in celebration, never knew how fkin lucky they were. This was pre semi final losing on a regular basis and pre play off final cock ups. Heady days indeed and with the win in 25 coming just 10 years after the previous fa cup final win they were spoilt lucky buggers. Admittedly half of em had been mowed down like cattle in the trenches by the elitist rich pillocks who got the poor lucky buggers to go and die for them, but getting shelled day and night and suffering from trench foot, or getting gassed back to blighty was a small price to pay to see the red n white wizards actually win somat. Lucky buggers.

John Nicholson died 7 years after the cup victory. Around 6,000 people turned out for his funeral.
It often gets overlooked how instrumental he is to the clubs history.

If memory serves he was knocked down and killed by a tram just outside the train station and most of the players saw it.

Yes. They were on their way to Birmingham to play Aston Villa and he was crossing the road to join them. Pretty horrific.

My grans step brother died the same way I think sometime in the 1930s when he was about 10. I think it happened near Gleadless and was, by all accounts, a real mess.

It was a fairly common problem apparently. The streets were heavily pedestrianized but still had these huge vehicles travelling at speed amongst them.
Residents of Brooklyn were nicknamed "trollydodgers" at the time due to having to precariously avoid the trams when out in the city.
In fact the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team adopted their name from the term.

Tragic pal. Might have been a long time ago but that is still a very sad tale. A pup of 10 years old. :(

Wouldnt have been a problem that for most of Utds recent goalkeepers. The tram would either have sent them the wrong way or gone underneath them.
