Greetings one and all.

I've heard on the grapevine that Blades are trying to sign Notts County captain Alan Sheehan. As a County fan, I'd be devastated as he's been a massive player for us this season. Will apparently be in the Nottingham Post tomorrow.

Would you folks be happy with Sheehan?

Seems an odd one as it has been confirmed we have signed Bob Harris from Blackpool after a very successful loan spell & Clough is looking to extend his deal further than the original one we agreed back in January when McMahon went the other way

Can Sheehan play CB or is he just a LB? What type of player he is?

He's always seemed a decent player when we've visited and stuck out as one of your better performers but that has been in sides that have shipped 9 goals in these two visits.

He switched to centre back when County had Liddle sent off in the opening match of last season. Shaun Derry also played him there on several occasions, so yes Clough may see him as a replacement for Matt Hill.

Or even a replacement for John Brayford:

His first name is Alan,Alan, Alan
His second name is Sheehan, Sheehan, Sheehan
And he has got a beard, beard, beard..............................Just saying

Cheers for that Bergen. If he can provide competition for Harris at LB & Collins/Maguire at CB then I have no problem with him coming in. However I'd much rather us get a RB in as at the minute we have none on the books now Brayford & Freeman have gone back

Very early days though, no need to panic at all.

In Clough we trust

Could also potentially cover for Doyle as well. Could be a good squad player.

Did Notts County go down in the end? Just wondering why their captain would want to come here to be a bench warmer.

They stayed up. Like most footballers,if they are offered more money elsewhere and the right fee is offered,he will move (if we are interested)

Reading his twitter, there's an indication that he may have signed

Someone on BM saying McNulty has signed and to be announced next week. Perhaps a double announcement then?

Think he'd be a great signing for us from what I've seen of the bloke.
Signing rivals best players is certainly the way to get out of this league...look at Wolves :o
