Join 1st with Armstrong on 6 goals already.

Got to say although I was dubious of the decision to bring him here, he's had no problem finding the net.

Have we finally found that prolific 20+ goal a season man? I think so. Just need the other end of the pitch patching up now.

I thought Coutts looked excellent today as well, a different man to the one under negative Nigel.

Here's to Burton and a further closing of the 2 point gap to the automatic spots.

Think WWF and 1 or 2 other called this out before season started ;-)

Clever fookers !!

My prediction at the start of the season was that Sharp would be our top scorer with 20 + goals and we will finish between 2nd and 6th.

Both on track.

Although I wasn't sure we needed him, he's enjoyed his best form under Adkins and has all the hallmarks of being a fantastic signing for this season.

I don't get the criticism he recieves from some seemingly for being a blade.

has looked absolute quality from his first touch in a pre season friendly I went to. He's a real handful and you imagine that he'll have a day at some point when they all go in and he's taking the match ball home

I've heard a rumour that Billy Sharp has been round the squad, told them that his job is to score goals and exactly what sort of service he needs to give him the chance to score goals.

For what it is worth, I think that Billy Sharp at best is not much more than an average Championship striker, but if put him at this level, give him the right sort of service and he is absolutely lethal. He looks a completely different player this time though, and I have absolutely no doubts that it is down to the fact that we have got the one man who knows exactly how to get the best out of him, in Billy Sharps last spell with us, I desperately hoped he would do well for us, but a lot of the time he was left to run the channels after long ball after long ball under Blackwell and that was why it never worked out for him.

He did score one of my favourite ever Blades goals in the snow and sleet at Barnsley on a bitterly cold Easter Saturday afternoon in front of 6,000 loud and raucous travelling Blades

His movement and chest control are different class ,this is what makes his chances if he gets the delivery. Plus hes got a manager that knows how to play him.

I definitely think his movement and link up play has vastly improved since he has been back.

I'm enjoying watching him play, whereas in his last spell it was painful to behold. Our best player so far by a country mile.

Think there is far more to his game as you say Sitters than just scoring goals. Sammon appears a great foil for him as well. This for me is a department we are blessed in. We always say we want better quality and less quantity and Adkins has done that in his forwards.

I've always liked the classic big man/little man partnership.

I appreciate Connor Sammon for what he is, a hard working target man who is a big physical presence who is superb at running the channels, and he has those abilities that is essential for a target man in that he is clever enough to have a good understanding with his strike partner (McNulty should he come in to the side would thrive alongside Sammon as well) and that he is good at pulling defenders out of position and creating space for others.

Why have I got Sharp down for 7 goals this season?

(Sorry, I thought he'd got one away at Peterborough)

He's the whole package at this level. Not only the top scorer but the player who gives the most every game.

I still don't rate him much and I think both him and Sammon should be converting their chances better when you consider the division they have come from. That said Sharp could be our top scorer come the end of the season.

Looking at the chances that Billy has had thus far and some of those excellent saves from the opposition goal keepers I would say Billy would be in double figures easily by now.

I believe he will be the league 1 top scorer by the end of this season.

By my calculations they have got 9 in 9 between themselves, so how to do they convert their chances better?

Honestly cant believe that post.

I can because it was pretty much what I said the other week after we lost and others agreed with me. :)

I hope they both prove me wrong and finish top scorers though.

Wow.

Some people are never happy, we've had to wait until his 3rd spell for someone to play him in his most effective role and he, despite our defensive issues, could propel us into the Championship on his own. Let's get Chris Porter back to appease the doubters!

When did we last have a player finish as the top scorer in our division? Ched was beaten by Jordan Rhodes. Deane/Agana were beaten by Steve Bull. I can't think of any others prolific seasons for our strikers other than those. I'm guessing that the last time would have been Keith Edwards, but not sure which season, as that was just the start of my time watching the Blades.

Edwards in 1981-82 and 1983-84

I know it's a division down but he's been fully vindicated having a third crack here. Adkins clearly knows how to get the best out of him.

He puts 100% in, never gives the defenders a seconds rest and I'd back him to take even half chances.

He'd be a good best for 25 goals.
