Mark McGhee was talking on Goals on Sunday yesterday about his time at Millwall, he said that when they were flying (just before the collapse of ITV Digital) he put a bid in for Jags and Tonge. Interesting one and it shows that at times, we can hold onto our stars/ future stars...

McGhee talked of the ITV digital collapse and losing the revenue as having a direct impact on Millwall's demise, McGhee was at Millwall 2000-2003 so this would put the time as being around 2001/2002.

We forget that we also lost money during this collapse, but this didn't halt our progress as 2002/03 we made it to 2 cup semis and a Play Off final. Perhaps the club should look back at this and try to learn from the fact that we don't always get benefits from selling our future stars.

Yeah well we were never going to sell our best young talent at the time to a rival club like Millwall.

All our best young players have been sold to Prem Clubs and any of not so good young talent has mostly ended up at Rotherham or Chesterfield (Obviously ignoring Billy Sharp)

He said they bid about 1mil or 1.5 mil per player If I remember rightly.

McGhee obviously biggin himself up, Tonge and Jags Pah!!

He never spotted the real talent in the Midfield did he, the one we have kept
