I noticed that our neighbours across the city have put theirs on sale today whereas we've had no announcements.

I'd imagine one would be imminent, considering STs have gone on sale at the beginning of March for the last few years.

Being realistic, I'd hope that our season ticket prices wouldn't rise. Being optimistic, I'd hope they'd actually fall to reflect the fact that the chances are, we'll be seeing yet another season in League One.

So how much would you be willing to pay to renew/buy a new season ticket?

Our Porcine friends always release theirs alot earlier than ours.

That said they do most things before us like going out of the FA Cup for example.

For us I think they need to reduce the price a bit seeing as we will be most likely in the same league. (basically what Linz said)

£440 to watch third division football is steep. I think the most expensive season ticket should be around the £350 mark.

Part of NCs interview lately pointed out that contract negotiations could not take place till we knew what league we would be playing in. I suppose it is the same when deciding what price to set for season tickets.

I unfortunately had to give mine up this season due to changing jobs and moving house etc, but I'm hoping to be in a position to get one again for next season, I assume there is still a price for returning fans?

Im glad i didnt get one this season as just about all our home games on saturdays fell when our lass was at work & i was looking after our daughter.

I guess i might have to wait until the fixtures are released before decising on what to do.

I can't grumble at £300 for mine TBH. Even better that it's been virtually the same for quite a number of years now.

I think mine is £299 on the kop. Personally I think £250 would be about right whether were in league 1, championship or the premier league.

Did they offer any free season tickets for juniors last season?

Might be the first season I can take one of the kids regularly but will depend on pricing.

Due to distance and school etc, I wont be taking her to midweek night matches so don't want to fork out too much.

HeCanDoMagic: No free ones last season, but I think I paid £30 for my 7 year old grandson.

Im a fairly new poster, but see your a bit of a 'jet setter', how many games do you get to etc?
With this job I've managed 1 home league game this season. Might make another one over Easter. Managed a total of 3 with cup and an away game. I'd already bought my season ticket when I got this job in April and I'll be finished here by December so I should be getting back for more games after new year... But it depends where I end up after this job

I've only moved over the Pennines for family reasons and only just manage a few more than you so that's a fair effort.

Shouldn't imagine there's too many League One games on TV over there either.

I'm expecting around the £400 mark again... it's been around £420 the last few seasons I think (I'm on the South Stand).

£380 would be a very nice surprise... it would make it about £17 a game which I think is reasonable for L1 football.

A season ticket on the Kop should be no more than £13 a match.... so £299.

The matchday prices of £20 on each of the side stands and £15 on the Kop and somewhere in between for the Westfield Corner. None of this fannying around with categories.

Looking to get one for next season, toyed with the idea this year but buying a house in april swallowed up all available funds! None of my SUFC mates are interested tho, sat on my own for an entire season would not be much fun so hoping they are cheap enough to entice some mates....

This.

Aren't they a lot cheaper if you're just renewing them? Kinda banking on that.

I was thinking about this yesterday, and maybe we should bring in a reward scheme so any Season Ticket Holder who gets a friend to get a season ticket gets some cash back which they can either split or whatever. A bit like all the deals you get for Sky and BT etc;

I've asked Jim Phipps if the club can look into offering season tickets that do not include midweek games for those fans who may live too far away to make those games. I travel from Warrington for the Saturday games but I can't get over the Tuesday night matches. I told him that I want to be able to keep my seat with my dad, brother and nephew but have had to pay out in the past for all the games even though I know I can't get to a number. He told me he would look into the idea...

I've seen some clubs advertising 10 or 6 game tickets on Twitter (Charlton I think?). I thought that was a good idea in terms of saving money for fans who can't afford the full ST but I'm not sure how the logistics of it works... if say, everyone with a 10 match season ticket wanted to attend the same game, we'd have to reserve capacity to ensure that they could gain entry.

I think the weekend ST is a good idea, but how would you account for weekend matches which are forced, through bad weather or cup ties, to be rearranged for midweek? These possibilities would have to be worked into the price in some way.

I know the demand isn't there to really make it necessary at the moment, but having the opportunity to "sell" your ST seat could be an option. If you can't attend the game, you can put your seat up for sale and if someone buys it, you get your money back for that game.

One thing I would like the club to do, which I've said OVER and OVER is get involved with one of the local building societies and create a Blades Savings Account, encouraging responsible financial management in saving for games/season tickets instead of offering expensive credit options when the time comes round.

You could start with the young 'uns. When you join the Junior Blades, you get an account opened up in the JB's name and the Club would deposit a couple of quid or whatever. Then it's up to the JB and their family to grow the account and they can use it in any way they wish but if they have a Blades Savings Account book and withdraw their money to buy a season ticket (you'd get a receipt or something when withdrawing the cash) you'd get a nominal discount on the ST. Once they'd reached savings milestones, they'd get free tickets or whatever.

For adults, it'd be a monthly savings account whereby you commit to crediting the account each month with the same amount by standing order. The idea being that when March/April rolls around, you've got a stash of cash to use for your ST. And again, the Club could offer a small discount for doing it this way.

It'd be good it the season ticket was more flexible. I think other clubs are involved in the ticket swapping website (can't remember the name of it) where you can put your ticket up for sale if you can't go.

So you buy a full season ticket, but can sell your individual match tickets online for those games that you can't attend.

This obviously wouldn't benefit the club financially on the re-sales, but they would get more money up front from season tickets, but it would benefit fans

If you mean StubHub, a lot of fans of those clubs hate it, due to driving up prices (massively higher than the face value).

Yeah that's the one. I didn't mean for us to join that exact one, but perhaps the club could run their own?

They could charge their own admin fee, the fan could get the face value back and the club could sell these seats back for less than standard prices?

Yeah, it's definitely a good idea :) but only if implemented in the right way :)

I have just had the misfortune of negotiating the official site to buy my Charlton ticket.

There's a banner stating season tickets are on sale. Clicked on it and it took me somewhere completely unrelated to tickets.

I don't know if it's worse on a tablet but it's a horrible site. I know it's put upon the club but do they have a channel to send constructive feedback to the site maker to help them make it a bit less shit?

Will we be advertising on the front of the Star ?
Whats that deja vu saying again ?

I think we need to remember the club has to make some money from non season ticket holders. I don't think it's right if people are swapping season tickets all over the place with complete strangers.
