Selling Brooks to get a loan in is disappointing. He might be good? But if it is a loan it should be a proven championship player who we know will be good enough straight away.

It’s a risky signing and if he’s not good yet, it’s simply a waste of a signing. Whereas if this was permanent we would be investing in the team.

There's no such thing as an anytime recall. Recall only applies during a transfer window. There's a recall option in every season-long loan. But it will only apply in January. Just like every other loan we've done previously.

What's wrong with signing a couple of players on loan to give us a chance to have a season without the threat of relegation, bring back some excitement to the fans and spend time assessing players over time for full signings in season 27-28?
