Ritchie Barker

Would be my first choice. Good up and coming young manager, knows the league well and what is required. Crawley play good, attacking football. Didn't he used to work at the academy as well?

Richard Barker is on all the betting sites i had hoped that was someone else just with a similar name, really don't fancy him doing the business. I would also say that if it is him i'd question this hole "this appointment will clearly show sheffield united's intentions" quote that i heard yesterday. Happy in league one must be the intentions then.

The betting is about as relevant as Victoria Beckham's music career.

None of the bookies accept bets of more than about 50p so they don't care.
Last time about 5 managers went to odds-on favoutite, Chris Wilder was 1/10 at one point and he was never even in the running for the job. David Weir wasn't even in the lists of about 50.

I'm surprised looking at wikipedia that Barker never player a league game for the unclean, in my mind i always associate him with them. Just what we need, another piggy manager.

The fact he had any association with the pigs puts him under pressure straight away, just like Wilson was.

Just making a point. It's all a bit "Kevin Bacon". And therefore stupid.

He is a pig though
A born and bred pig from a family of pigs
He hardly never played for them but he supports them

He can feck off then. Surely even our board can't be dumb enough to hire another porker after all the Wilson stuff?

What am i saying? Of course they can. :(

Does this he will get us relegated deliberately? What difference does it make?
To me It means he grew up supporting sheffield wednesday and loathing sheffield united , if he is willing to take our money despite this fact then he is not the kind of man I want at the helm

Sven may be a lot of things but at least he's not a pig.

Given that Barker will be looking for Wednesday's results after our game every Saturday, and giving it the clenched fist if they win, I can't beleive that the board are seriously contemplating this appointment.

I wouldn't give a shit if he looked at the Pigs results if he did a good job for us.

Does it matter that he has Wednesday connections? Surely we just want the best manager for the job and he has the similar background to Dean Smith who quite a few fans wouldn't mind taking over

It's not just "Wednesday connections". Wilson and others had Wednesday connections and I had few problems with that. But Barker is a dyed-in-the-wool pig fan, who prefers Wednesday to United, and cheers them on whenever they play.

I'd rather we were managed by the corpse of Jimmy Saville

I don't know where you dig them up from

So is Harry , but we love him , great lad

Barker would be a good pick, and he's always very complimentary about SUFC in the media. Some people are against it, but he plays good football and has more promotions on his CV than Karl Robinson.

I couldn't care less if he supports Wednesday - he's hardly going to deliberate sabotage us.

And what if he didnt do a good job for us !!!
What would you think then ?
still not relevant. He either does a good job or doesn't. Adams supported us...didn't do a good job. Porterfield and Wilson played for them-both did OK to varying degrees.

If he isn't any good, it won't be down to him supporting a team other than us

It is relevant Im afraid.
Wilson and Porterfield only played for them they were not brought up in Sheffield by a family of pigs
It turns my stomach that a proper pig could ever be in charge of my club or taking my hard earned cash in his pocket in wages or compensation when he is sacked for being a failure
