The Steve Gerard penalty

Referee Rob Styles blew his whistle, pointed to the spot and opened up a whole can of worms over tackling and intent.


When interviewed after the game the referee commented

“I saw the Sheffield United player to come in and make side contact with Steven Gerrard “

He had no idea who Morgan was, but was in full knowledge of ‘Stevie’

The linesman didn’t give it & Gerrard went past Morgs took another step & shot wide
