Rattled or Obsessed?

The Wrexham cockends seem to use the word "rattled" whenever we counter argue anything they've put on twitter, OR, if we slag them off for their, quite disgusting behaviour, in the stand.

It got me thinking...

How come, they can be cocky as fuck in the buildup, but if we write anything back, we're "rattled by a non-league team".
No we're not, we are just answering back - are we not allowed to do this being a few (THREE) leagues above?

Then it got me thinking more...

Wednesday use the exact same tactic, only they can't "rattle" us as we never get to play them. Instead, any pisstake we make on twitter is greeted with the word "obsessed".
We're not obsessed with you, don't let it flatter you. We share the same city, of course we're going to keep a watchful eye. It's called rivalry.

So - do you prefer to be called "rattled" or "obsessed"?

Personally I prefer to use "deluded", which applies to both those clubs.

“Based”, “This guy livin in the year 3000”, that fucking bollocks with “nobody:” and then some utter nonsense (that format doesn’t even make sense). And I say this as a committed Simpsons shitposter

i am so surprised how bloody petty United fans have become. i wasn't in the UK when we got to the semi final V Hull whilst in the third tier but surely at that time we were the TV darlings?
Why have we got so many softies nowadays?? What is wrong with a club having a couple of film actors owning their club? They are currently in the 5th tier for God's sake.
Really disappointing to see we are becoming such a feeble bunch of supporters and crying that Wrexham players expected us to roll over.....surely the Wrexham players were only answering questions being posed by the press over the last couple of weeks and never really meant to show arrogance that we seem to be claiming.
 
Whatever there players did or didn't say and regardless of what their social media posted or didn't

I think being outside of the country might affect what you see, read, hear & feel.

Essentially, we don’t have a problem with their journey, documentary or owners. It’s a nice story, it really is.

The problem is, the entitlement that has seemingly come to the fore, it’s like they’ve sucked in a canister of nitrous oxide (AKA the media furore surrounding them) and it’s gone to their head.

They say the tweet from their club account had everything to do with Son who is apparently a Wrexham fan but we know that’s not entirely true. The eyes emoji showed they thought / felt they were through, intentional or not it was a shitpost. Darren Bent in Talksport agreed with this from an ex-player perspective. I get it too as a fan.

Our fans typically are throwing it back a little bit. Petty? Probably but that’s the age of “social media Bantz” we live in, it’s all petty.

It’ll all be forgotten about and they’ll sink back to irrelevancy.

Also folk describing 'Blades fans' and how they act, as though we are a homogenous bunch, all reacting in an identical way, is wearisome in the extreme.
 
I don't really give a shit about Wrexham. The BBC fawning was slightly nauseating, ITV was much better. It's done and we move on.

As for the pigs, an awful lot of them seem to watch more of us than I do. If they were playing outside my house I'd close the curtains and release the hounds. They copy us so much I'm surprised they haven't claimed the GCB song. Obsessed.

I would say both sets of Sheffield clubs fans are equally obsessed with the other team, I don't think Wednesday are more obsessed with us than vice versa, it's just football rivalry. I support two teams I have to admit and I've never hidden that. United and the team that plays Wednesday on the day! ;) No on a serious note, contrary to previous statement, I don't particularly care what Wednesday are doing as long as we're doing better!

As for Wrexham, the tweet they did was stupid but it rebounded on them in my opinion. I loved Billy's interview after and just thought it was funny, some may say let your football do the talking but giving it back to the opposition from time to time is always enjoyable in my view!
 
I’m a bit surprised that this has been allowed to develop really. I read the comments by Simon Jordan and in all honesty I found myself nodding along.

Yes, I had a little snigger when Billy did his interview. However, it does feel a little like punching down.

When you play with your kids and they beat you at something and give it large you don’t generally (maybe you do!) rub it in their face when you then win.

On reflection, and maybe Billy didn’t get the opportunity because of being interviewed right afterwards, being magnanimous in victory is a better look, especially from the Club Captain. Hecky was far better in this when he just said “I’m not interested”.

Billy has done the lower leagues in his rise up. It’s not that he wouldn’t understand what a big thing it was for them to have gotten that far.

I think doing the camera celebration was enough. He’s kind of made us the villains right now to quite a large global audience and we didn’t need to be. Both teams could have been getting plaudits but it’s added an unnecessary cloud.

Saying something like “they seem to have enjoyed it. I think a few of them got a bit carried away but it’s a big achievement for them, so I understand that. Like us, they’re doing well in their league. Good luck to them. For us, we achieved what we set out to. We’ll look towards Spurs when it comes around but for now, all our focus is on Swansea on Saturday.”

In most cases like these quoting “obsessed”, “rattled”, this usually comes from those craving attention and the best way to deal with someone who craves attention is to starve them of it!

That tozer was rattled if you listen to villy he said a few players were saying things and they know who they are .
 



Caring too much - ie. frothing at the mouth over a few comments - is cringeworthy.

Not caring at all - or pretending to be aloof and above it all- is also lame. It's football.. a bit of drama adds spice and makes it more interesting. I'd hate to be a 'nice' club whose fans are well liked by everyone. How boring.

I dont understand sheffielders, united and pig alike, who claim not to care about the other team. The passion is what makes it a proper derby, I'm happy to admit I 'care' about them in the sense that I want them to fail miserably at every turn. It gives me great satisfaction.

Still care a million times more about United though like.


Pigs aside, it's worth noting that all the other recent spats I can think of came from us simply responding to others shithousery. We don't actually instigate much on our own (except maybe the odd kidney punch to a granny here and there).

To list a few-
Coventry: fans actively trying to disrupt our players under the guise of a 'protest', we respond with a few tongue in cheek chants about ownership. They get their knickers in a twist.

Norwich: team time wastes, feigns injury and generally shithouses to the extreme. Wilder points it out as do our fans on the return fixture for a bit of fun. They get upset for some reason?

Forest: fans invade the pitch and attack our players. Yes we're totally the bad guys here..

Wrexham: To be honest I don't think they were that bad. The Spurs post came off as cheeky more than anything else and shit talking is surely just part of the game (depends a bit on what was said), but Billy is also not the bad guy for not sucking up to the media, and for calling it out. They can hardly expect to give it and not get anything back in response.
