Seemingly tried to play advantage a lot, but only succeeded in breaking up play regularly. Apart from one or two very high profile ferk ups, he was equally incompetent for both sides.

Did we have a proper referee? I thought some fool had employed Jasper Carrott for the day. The "referee" missed the attempt to kick Kyle Naughton's head into Hillsborough Park, saw a yellow-card-offence through red-card-tinted eyes, missed out on a clear elbow to the head, managed to send off a player yet still leave his side with eleven men playing, and no doubt will have the bare-faced cheek to demand payment for his ineptitude.
