I think Ramsdale did well.

His positioning was fine. It was an awful back pass, he's come for it, realised he's falling short, but done just enough with the swinging leg to panic the forward into a heavy touch going wide of goal.
He's very clearly pulled his leg away and then been done by a shocking decision from the ref.

He's brushed himself down, without complaints to the ref, or his team mate who sold him short... and saved the penalty.

First class.

I find it difficult to understand the nitpicking micro-analysis of everything that Ramsdale does . For me the only thing that matters is whether or not he is a good quality PL standard goalkeeper .

Based on his performances so far with us and last year with Bournemouth , the answer for me is a resounding yes . His performance against Leeds was up there with some of the best I’ve seen from a Blades goalie in many years .
Furthermore , for those who insist on making comparisons with Henderson I would argue that AR is better than him in controlling his 6 yard box both in the air and particularly along the ground , which was a noticeable weakness in the former .

Finally , those who think we paid too much for him should remember that Everton paid £ 32 mill for Jordan Pickford at a time when transfer fees were generally much lower than now .

I know which of the two I’d rather have on our books right now .

Skipp was poor, his short back pass led to the penalty also gave the ball away leading to the goal

A Wednesday mate said it was Ramsdale's poor positioning, not a poor back pass

Definitely a bad decision, but where on earth is Ramsdale going in the first place!? He's got to come and clear that with his left foot and smash it in to the stand.

Ramsdale has actually read the game perfectly. He's spotted his teammate running backwards towards his own goal. He's moved to the right of his post to offer the player a simple backpass for him to clear:


The player then inexcusably passes the ball towards the penalty spot. You're taught at a very young age to never pass the ball towards the goal.

You can see from this still that he's put it back across Ramsdale and made him check back into the area he's just ran from (that costs him a yard or so).



I get what you're saying about his left foot, but that is all Skipp's doing, not Ramsdale.
