In a book I read.
There are numerous watering holes within a mile of the stadium, but not too many brilliant ones. But with the area undergoing regeneration over the next 5 years or so, the standards are likely to go up as hostelries look to capitalise on the increase in visitors to the area. Pubs on the High Road are handy if you're arriving on the tube at wembley central. Like most around here on a matchday, places such as the Curragh and The New Village Inn get rammed. But they may make a good pitstop on the way to the stadium. JJ Moon's, a wetherspoons on the High Road, is recommended for its value tucker and cheap beers. One of the best pubs in the area is the Green Man on Dagmar Avenue, just off Empire way and a stone's throw from the stadium. Up a hill, it overlooks the stadium offering great views of the venue of legends. The beer is good, staff friendly and it has a big beer garden. The pub easily accommodates crowds of thirsty pre-and post match drinkers and also boasts a big car-park.
If you're arriving at wembley park, check out The Crock of Gold pub or The Torch on Bridge Road. Both do pub grub.
En route to the match, you might want to stop off at Alisan at wembley retail park on Engineers way for a quick jar, if only to enjoy the superb view of wembley stadium from the first- floor of this chinese restaurant.
Avoid The Greyhound on Harrow Road, near wembley stadium station. Staff and doormen are'nt the friendliest and you'll pay inflated prices for beers and soft drinks, probably sold in plastic glasses.
