'Doc' Pace my hero

i would hope so. this would be the same as Huddersfield. on whole & taking a step back when you think who you are competing against as he is doing amazing to be up there in automatic & play off contention. ive said before that if someone said we can give you 4th now whatever happens. i would take it home play off semi final thank you every much. but we know from Leicester fulham & Huddersfield. how quick things can change & you lose 5 in a row like fulham would people panic. i would hope that we would be Burnley not Fulham. as too many premier league teams only think short term & it catches up then potentially ruins the club for a few more years

We fucked up letting Warnock go, it would be an even bigger fuck up letting Wilder go.

thats a great point if we had Warnock we couldve bounced back. instead of consecutive relegation battles with robson. then blackwell which shows how bad it was when he was 1 of highlights with Wilson & Clough. also i dont actually think many of established managers are as good as wilder.

Take the Burnley route and show loyalty, if we’re to believe everything we’ve read regarding other clubs trying to poach wilder and him turning them down, then we’d need to repay that loyalty..

This guy is gonna get a statue in the car park, I genuinely believe he’s that good..

All the emphasis in the arguments seem to be about how the club and the supporters would react if we were to have a 'Derby-esque' type Premier league season.

Chris Wilder could have his self confidence totally destroyed and a season in the Championship trying to recreate the better days would prove futile.

In those circumstances it would be in the best interests for all concerned if we parted company.

Seem to remember seeing the same questions when we were top of League One.

We should obviously keep him in my opinion (look at Dyche for someone who built a team to survive in the prem even after coming down), but there are varieties to that scenario. If we've lost every game 5-0 and look abject having spent a ton then maybe time to reconsider. Have to get there first though.

Having spent a ton? :p:p:p Lolz

I agree 100 per cent.

United have a history of being also rans, finishing second or lower and missing out.

We’ve won a title already under Wilder, albeit League One, but it’s only the fourth title win in our history.

I actually think we could win things under Wilder and by that I mean the odd cup. If he gets us to the top league there’s no reason why the odd cup couldn’t be won here and there.

Lesser clubs have done it, no reason we can’t.

No brainier for me.
Keep him
Nobody else has the connection or the ability to do what he has done.
If we went down we go back up again.

I wouldn't want Wilder sacked if I walked in on him shagging my Mrs.
Wilder is only passion because he's a fan too. Pretty much any of US could have got our team out of league 1. Tired of this long ball mediocre stuff . Boring to watch . endeavor only .

But no shouldn't be sacked because he's a Sheffield lad living his dream .

Fleck is rubbish too .And a crock

I'd simply like to award the op with the biggest pile of crap post ever on any Blades forum.
Perfect for a pig site.

I had reservations about the football under Warnock, yes it was entertaining at times but it was the up and at em direct percentage football style. The football we play under Wilder I could watch all day, love watching Duffy, Norwood, McGoldrick etc, proper footballers. I’m enjoying it so much that I can handle failure to be promoted and would still look forward to next season which ever division we are in.

I think the issue with Wilder is “the unknown”.
He prides himself on playing positive on the front foot football home and away.
It does make you wonder if we would go to Liverpool Man Utd genuinely hoping to win playing positive attacking football.

Under CW we always play an open game not overfocussing on stopping the opposition like we did under Warnock.
So could we dare to dream of winning at Anfield or Old Trafford or would Wilders open tactics mean we lose 7-0?

The PL is international with massive salaries. Wilder is old school and has no experience managing foreigners or big ego’s.
Would love to see Wilder in the top flight because I’ve no idea how he’d cope. He could be the new Brian Clough or he could be a massive flop getting thrashed most weeks, meaning he’d need to change to damage limitation more negative tactics.

Many neutrals all around the country have said to me they want Leeds and Sheff Utd to be promoted
They give the reason that it would be fascinating to see both Bielsa and Wilder managing in the PL.

If United went up, I'd expect us to be in a relegation battle unless we had owners such as Leicester's or Bournemouth's throwing substantial amounts of their own capital at the club. The immediate aim is to stop up, but the primary aim is to become a more powerful club. United's goal upon promotion would be to become no less than a yo yo club like Burnley, West Brom and Birmingham have done in the past. I would trust Wilder with the money to help us come back up with an even more powerful club with an even better squad of players. Then we'd have an increased chance of establishing ourselves.

Wilder hasn't always played this way, so I'm sure he'd adapt his style if and when needed.

He’s learnt and adapted in league 1, then again in the championship he’d do the same.

Let’s wait though, that’s a long way off, one match at a time is the Wilder way

How far does your generosity end in this regard?

I assume of it was Billy Sharp he'd also get a free pass, the cheeky little goalscoring scamp!

I'm also assuming Dean Hammond wouldn't get a free pass. Though he'd more likely be pointing and waving and doing unseen stuff than being caught in the act.

So, my question is where between Chris Wilder and Dean Hammond would you draw the line?

Keep him whatever happens. He'd get us back up eventually. The only way Wilder should leave this football club is if he resigns and we receive hefty compensation from whoever steals him.
