Take out the top 7 clubs from the Premiership and compare what's left.
I would suggest the championship has the better selection of clubs/ stadiums/ crowd size than the premiership.
There's some very ordinary clubs up there, whilst there's more historically larger clubs in the championship.

Great read, thanks for sharing!

Depends which league Wednesday are in next season. If they're in the prem the championship will be shit and tinpot, if they don't get lucky as fuck and stay down it'll be the hardest league in the world and we'll be lucky to finish on 10 points.

There's about 30 clubs who say 'we're a Premier League size club'.

Not room for them all, and when teams like Hull, Swansea, Bournemouth, Watford and Burnley are run better than them there's a lot of 'big' clubs that end up slugging it out in the Championship... Or lower.

Going on today's result, they are going into the playoffs deflated and worried. If they can't beat an average Campionship side at home, God knows how they would survive in the Prem, that is assuming their luck in the playoffs will be even flukier than last year and they actually win it.

To be fair they made 10 changes. I don't think it will effect their confidence. Huddersfield played pretty much their first 11 and had their keeper sent off. Another nice slice of luck for Wednesday

Indeed. You're Premier League if you're in the Premier League. Anything else is just talk.

That said, I do find the Championship a lot more interesting.

Yep. Take away Man U, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal from the PL and the Championship has arguably more "big clubs" than the Prem.

No problems with Burnley, Watford, Bournemouth etc being in the PL though, that's what comes from having promotion and relegation. But all these small stadiums must be a bit embarrasing for those trying to promote the so-called biggest league in the world,

The championship is easily more of a competitive and interesting league in my opinion. The top 6 will in the prem will hardly ever be touched because the top players wouldn't want to play for West Brom for instance. I can't wait to see what the championship brings next season but I'd love to see united in the prem again. One step at a time though.

As much as it pains me to say it. I reckon the pigs will walk through the play offs with ease . Huddersfield look horrendous lately and fulhams first 11 only just scraped a win over their 2nd team and that's against a weak Wednesday side who had a man sent off . They'll paste hudds ( hope I'm wrong ) and beat reading one nil at Wembley. Then the championship will be the pub league again . We could easily get play offs next year although I'll be happy to stay up

I think the Pigs actually got this one right to be fair. They took their better players out of the firing line and are saving them for the play offs. On the other hand Huddersfield have probably played their main side but have had a very disappointing day. Hopefully they just went through the motions and will be more like themselves for the big one against the Pigs. The goalkeeper getting sent off for Huddersfield isn't great though, lets hope they have a decent stand in keeper.

The best bit about today was their run of wins has come to an end now, and Uncle Judd and Auntie Flo with 30 odd thousand once a year Wednesdayites will all have had their bi annual day out ruined as they saw em lose. Shame that.

It's not so much about being run better. It's about either getting a wealthy investor or getting a lucky break at the right time that gives you that Premier League income. They have long been doing their best to make it a closed shop.

Pains me to say it, but it seems to me that they are overwhelming favourites to win the playoffs this season as the.other three teams really arent particularly good. You have to say they have the best side on paper and it would be a cock up from them to end up staying down. There's no one really who I fancy to beat em like i did Hull Shitty last time.

I'm keeping up a brave face and telling all the porkers that I know that they will bottle it again, but in my heart of hearts I think Sad W@nkers Football Club (swfc) will do it. Still, fuk em. They will never be the Blades and they don't have Sir Wilder do they.

I would love them to get to the final and Concede a 30 yard wonder stroke in injury time though

The pigs might have got lucky today as Huddersfield were beaten 3-0 at home and had their goalie sent off so he can't feature in the playoffs!!. Not sure if it was a second string Huddersfield side?.

The prem has 4/5 clubs that can win it. 2 or 3 other very good team and 12 teams who start the, season hoping they don't get relegated. Weird league

They rested their main players and had a man sent off in first half to the 2nd best away team in the league?

Over confidence can be counter productive in the play off's.

4 teams over 2 legs and it still all boils down to who wants it more and although the Porker's are favourites on paper I'd love to see Huddersfield spoil the party over 2 legs. Should the Pork advance to Wembley there's still the other team to consider.

Wednesday are nailed on for promotion unfortunately, they are by far the best side out of those others in the play offs.

I can also see them spending big and staying up comfortably in the prem too.

Ten changes?

TEAMS

Wednesday: Wildsmith, Palmer, Sasso, Semedo, Fox, Matias, Jones, Hutchinson, Lee, Winnall, Rhodes

Substitutes: Dawson, Reach, Emanuelson, Hunt, Buckley, Bannan, Nuhiu

Both grounds should be a sell out for PO/S tickets at both games are max £20.
