Other sources reporting too, the Premier League are launching their own streaming subscription service, separate from TNT and Sky. Firstly under the banner of Premier League Plus in Singapore as the first target market. They will be able to watch every game on the platform starting from next season. They (the Premier League) are looking to see if it is viable before potentially rolling it out to other markets.

Will be interesting to see how that one develops, as a direct inhouse rival. Not only showing the matches but other content too, which I imagine with them pitching it as a 24/7 streaming service will be interviews and highlights etc.

My bet is they will prove it is a success and sell it to a Netflix or Amazon globally!

As consumers it will end up costing us more for the same content we enjoy while people celebrate 🙄

Probably right there, although according to Richard Masters they want to rival streaming services. I don't know how true it is but they are saying it is only going to cost £10 per month and if you stick at it you get all 380 games over the season plus the other content. I can see why they are starting in Singapore as apparently according to surveys nearly 50% of the adult population are interested in overseas football. That's a target market of roughly 2.1million based on those figures. If they price it at roughly £10 a month they could easily be making £10million a month from one country, when you look at the other Asian markets along with African and Middle Eastern too. That figure could be huge in no time and it would be their own controlled business rolling over £100s of millions. I think from what I can work out contracts for TNT, Sky and MoTD (BBC) run until 2029. One trial season, another season for growth and then it could in theory be bye bye regular TV matches and Premier League showing Premier League and controlled by Premier League. The rich getting richer still.

They won’t have to use Amazon or Netflix if they get it right. There’s an NFL and NBA channel, if they use the same model they can make a lot of money.

You used to get this on DAZN with the VPN set to Canada. It worked fine.

I noticed HBO MAX is launching in the UK. I presume SKY Atlantic will soon lose all of their stuff. Football and the Dramas are pretty much the only reason I'd bother.

If this takes off and I think it will Sky and TNT will be in trouble. If they get £6.7bn from the current deal it could be double that easily what they would get in direct revenue. Some clever sod will go into Sky's financials and see how much they make off the PL its that time of year again when companies release how they are doing.

Let them fk off they've tried before let them go..but when it falls if they want to come back they start in very bottom tier of football.
