Pre-Match View From Bradford

Don't know why I'm surprised by the comments about Bolton. You'd think any team with one foot in the automatic promotion position would be chomping at the bit to ensure their place as guaranteed promotion certainties. It's Bolton's to lose, and if they've lost their backbone then I've no pity for the weak-kneed jessies. The only thing that matters is that we continue to win, ruthlessly, and with the aplomb of confirmed Champions, Up The Mighty Blades!!!

I am not sure about this parallel world where there are people posting that they would not be bothered about dropping a point/points to Bradford, it's certainly not how things work in my head. I may have a passing interest in other teams, but they are usually non-league or from leagues in other countries. I only ever want the Blades to beat every team in front of them, even if it helps the current "most-hated-team ever". (does anyone, at all, think we'll give a fig about Bolton, promoted or not, within a month??)

I'll be on the Kop tomorrow and I don't expect there will be many sat there being ambivalent about the result.

Quite right sir, and long may those sentiments ring long and loud amongst those of us who've supported the Blades through the many years of underachievement.

It's a new day, so let's get behind this culture of doing our best to win. Although I might empathise with clubs confronted with the harsh realities of today's financial climate, there's no way I ever want SUFC to be anything other than a club whose instincts are to be the best they can be. We have a superb fan base, so now's the time to see just how ambitious (not to be confused with fiscal illiteracy) this club actually is. As long as there's realistic and tangible progress I doubt anyone will complain.

The thread about Subbuteo got me looking a photos of the Greatest Game Of All, as they used to claim on the adverts. What did I see but this? It's one end of Valley Parade to a T.

Subbuteo IS the greatest game of all time. Couldn't persuade the grandson, though; can't get him off FIFA. I think he knows I'd thrash him by as many as he beats me by at FIFA.

Absolutely mate. "Wouldn't mind them getting a point" seems to be the theme. Bollocks! Let Bradford look after themselves; they're none of our business. They'll get 46 games to establish themselves like everyone else, then those rather common play-off things, if you really must...

I would personally prefer Bradford rather than Bolton to go up but who gets second is supremely irrelevant compared to the Mighty Blades getting another win. Happily, Tufty and the lads will see it exactly the same way. Get that football machine warmed up and running, Chris.

I'm another who like The Bantams to come up with us, always liked them except for that game in 1982 when bricks/rocks were flying over our way when we stood on that big open kop of theirs ...

Things change over time.
1981 82 Bradford City were our closest rivals in Div 4 and we beat them to the title.
I met a fan of theirs who hated us because of that.
I always had a great liking for the people of Bradford I must say.
Go up City..along with Fleetwood Town.
Great night, big crowd and Keith Edwards 1 on 1 with the keeper, the rest is history, Edwards still the best I've seen when 1 on 1!
Would like see MC Call promoted rather the Knob that is Phil Parkinson
