On a separate topic, why is that everyone in football always uses the term “football club” and never just “club”? I find it oddly wierd as it’s as if the use of the singular term is massively disrespectful.
I first noticed it from Shearer on MOTD several years ago but maybe it became used before then.

That also irritates Bert.

Kenny Dalglish started it, that's where Wilder gets his interview techniques from, especially turning nasty when a mildly difficult question is asked.

What do people expect from this press conference?
We are bottom of the league on 2 points
We have numerous injuries
We have had cart loads of bad luck in the form of referees decisions, missed chances, fixture scheduling etc.

There have been people all over social media trying to stir it up, no doubt most from the other side of the city, I. E. The jealous souls who post on here.

Some of his signings have not worked out, yet he has gone back to the board asking for more money.

Yet he is expected to attend a press conference and convince sceptics that everything in the garden is Rosie, whilst some people become experts in body language, the number of times he mentions things and read things into the way he phrases his response to questions.
God give me strength and I am not Chis Wilder

Its a thankless task being forced in front of the media when things are not going at all well
Ive said that I wouldnt want to be thrust in front of the cameras every week just after a loss what the fuck do people expect
Then you get all the 'body language experts' deconstucting every word he says and how he says it with their conclusions 'hes lost the dressing room' hes clueless' hes lost the plot' 'looks as like hes going to walk' hes had a fall out with the Prince

It gets used as well in ' Winning games of football' .
We know we haven't got to start winning games of monopoly !

We no longer have forwards, we have players who play at the top of the field.

I know, there must be some sort of initiation ceremony that concludes the coaching badge course or pundit school. They are get tied to a goalpost smothered in dubbin and have their nadgers beaten with a corner flag if they fail to complete a pre-determined list of words with “football” as a prefix

Maybe playing early balls into the box would see our forwards become forwards again. I feel for the forwards, bomb into the box and wait and wait some more and then some more waiting while watching three or four players messing about with the ball on the right hand side of the box and then they are marked and blocked but it makes no odds as the balls back in our half of the pitch as someone’s lost the ball or passed it in the opposite direction......
sorry wrong thread.......

I don't see anything wrong with the interview maybe some of you lot play Football manager too much.

Maybe it’s also the run that’s coming up that’s playing on his mind? If we don’t beat Newcastle the next three are Tottenham, Man City & Man Utd! Won’t be getting much from those I don’t expect.
