I was incredibly down after last week's debacle at the Keepmoat, moreso than I have with any Blades performance for sometime. It was not the fact we lost, but the manner in which we had played (or not).

I was asked midweek by a colleague "Who you got Saturday?" and I couldn't think who until a guess of Coventry. I had lost a bit of interest. I thought things were getting better under Speed, slowly better, but then it was never going to be a speedy (excuse the pun) change of style and change of results. Saturday, showed we needed change and pepping up and I didn't see us having much we could do, both within the squad or bringing anyone in.

Then in the last 24 hours we have had encouraging words from Speed regarding internal changes and the signing of Reid who, regardless of weight, is a quality footballer especially at Championship level. He is no panacea but it's width and I hope to see us playing with 2 wingers later.

I now have my interest re-ignited a little and will be heading down the Lane with a bit more of a buzz than I had earlier in the week. Let's put last Saturday behind us and get behind the Blades from the start of the game.

Supporting most football clubs is futile. Its not about the demands for success, it is about enjoying yourself despite the disappointments; its about belonging to it, not having it belong to us. Just get on and enjoy the ride. 95% of the time it wont be great, but this is life, not the movies.

But, from time to time there are golden days when it goes right, we play well and give someone a hiding. We know it probably wont be, but there is always just a chance that it will be one of those 'were you there?' days...

So thats why he dont give you a lift anymore, you insist on screwing the driver:D

No, we've fallen out because he came to help me build me shed, but he was fooking useless. Worse than that fat goalkeeper from Luton.

All this talk of not liking someone you haven't met and all that .... got me thinking, Boo, how about lending a handle to your favourite albino gorilla?

Great post.

I'm exactly the same. Was so indifferent to this game today, but the Reid signing has made me look forward to the match instead.
