I was incredibly down after last week's debacle at the Keepmoat, moreso than I have with any Blades performance for sometime. It was not the fact we lost, but the manner in which we had played (or not).
I was asked midweek by a colleague "Who you got Saturday?" and I couldn't think who until a guess of Coventry. I had lost a bit of interest. I thought things were getting better under Speed, slowly better, but then it was never going to be a speedy (excuse the pun) change of style and change of results. Saturday, showed we needed change and pepping up and I didn't see us having much we could do, both within the squad or bringing anyone in.
Then in the last 24 hours we have had encouraging words from Speed regarding internal changes and the signing of Reid who, regardless of weight, is a quality footballer especially at Championship level. He is no panacea but it's width and I hope to see us playing with 2 wingers later.
I now have my interest re-ignited a little and will be heading down the Lane with a bit more of a buzz than I had earlier in the week. Let's put last Saturday behind us and get behind the Blades from the start of the game.
