Now this is hard...

O'Connell is the best centre half we've had since Maguire, shame he doesn't have a top drawer partner to go with him or top class keeper behind him... Or indeed top class full backs either side of him.
Wilson isn't as bad as I thought he'd be - no sulking as yet.
Despite yesterday, Fleck and Duffy are good players but they need more help, they're virtually playing in a 2 man midfield with Done and Basham to call on.
Clarke is better than I gave him credit for before we signed him, wins everything.

That's about it for now.

Just seen a keely Donovan instagram of her licking an ice cream.
That's my highlight of the last week.

I thought both Centre backs look solid defensively and Clarke won everything in the air.

That's about it.
I think I was more basing my views on Fleck and Duffy on what I'd seen at Bolton and seen of them for their previous clubs tbf

Pitch looks nice.
No bird shit on my seat.
The fat bloke going through the automatic turnstile in front of me (was like watching pasta being made).
Found an old packet of Polos in my pocket.

On the pitch I enjoyed Hussey's reaction to the equaliser. That's a man who wants to do well.
Hussey is another one who isn't as bad as some are making him out to be. He's better than Brayford...

Fleck 1st half
Sharp 2nd half
O'Connel and Clark throughout

Hussey, Duffy and Wilson had their moments to. Can't fault Basham's effort but for me he needs sticking at RB in place of Brayford.

Funniest bit of the day was during warm up when Duffy blasted one into the Kop and hit some old dear right in the stomach. She took it well bless her :D

positives for me

centre backs look like they can defend
Hussey - good free kick, did Ok at the back
Clarke - a proper target man, with a goal scoring record
Sharp - scored, he's a bit of a confidence player and immediately looked better
Their goal probably means Wilder will definitely act to strengthen this key area

Question marks

Brayford - Freeman getting on the bench probably tells a tale on how Wilder sees this issue
Wilson - distribution was poor
Centre midfield - doesn't look like these two can control the midfield
Left midfield - we either need to pick a proper left midfield player or pick a formation that doesn't need one
Formation - we were classic 442 when in pre -season they have been more 4231. May take a while to find a successful formation
Finally, one big concern was that Rochdale seemed to have more legs than us and that has been a problem for a number of years now. Wilder needs to be a bit ruthless with them if they don't put in the work

First time in 12 months?
Not sure. I'm not a statto. Feels like it though but I think we might have snatched a couple of draws last season from losing positions.
What we don't seem to be able to do is to go on and win games once we've equalised.

Great finish from Sharpy.
Both strikers are off the mark.
Centre halves look an improvement.
Fleck is better than Hammond (!).

No it isn't hard - you have given your opinion early and not waited 2 or 3 months until others jump on the band wagon.
Agree with your assessment - except for Wilson - he is what he is, a 27 year old 3rd tier footballer who will not improve at BDTBL.

Mediocre sums it all up - and it isn't good enough.

I saved £2.80 cos I couldn't get through the queue for my half time overpriced sausage roll.

Excellent...brought a smile to my face!!!!

Worst style I've seen us play in a good few years, Basham, Long and Brayford need to be shipped out.
