People wonder why the passion has gone out of supporting the national team. The system is a complete joke. If you play for Man U and liverpool, you have a seemingly guaranteed spot for England.

Where is the justification for picking Cleverley and Smalling? You can go back to: Jones, Shelvey, Henderson etc . Players never get picked on merit any more, it's just who you play for.

Does my head in. Can't say I give a flyin whether England win or lose any more.
 
That is a travesty. He is quite literally prolific and should definitely have been included in the squad. Heck, make it a 31 man squad just to get him in

my feelings too blader,these are the same players that get to tournament after tournament and fail each time,and then trot out the same old excuses like the season is too long,not enough english players in the premier league blah blah blah...... one of my old employers used to have the perfect answer to employees who could,nt perform to standard......if you cant do the job,the door is over there and i can have my choice to replace you......and it worked ! i.e. mr hodgson there is 4 english leagues !
 
Looking at that England squad just highlights how poor we have become as a nation, hardly one player in there that makes me think WOW I can't wait to see him play, mediocrity rules even Rooney is highly over rated and most certainly over paid. Set of wankers that will be on the plane home from Brazil after 3 games.
 
Porter is suffering from the 'Clough curse' I'm afraid...he'll never play for England now Clough jr is are manager...

I do hope so. We can than put the silly car flags away for another four years; the quadrennial pub fans can fade away and those that want to, can watch some proper football.

Agreed the fact Cleverley and Smalling are there just shows what a joke the England squad is.

I would be axing at least 60% of that squad.

The defenders in that squad would make me smile with delight if I was an opposition striker!
 
What exactly has Andy Carroll done to even be mentioned with a possible England place?

Adam Johnson should be in based on form but we all know it's not based on that.

When was the last time anyone said "that Tom cleverley had right game" or smalling?

I'm not even fussed about the ages, just pick it on form. Gareth Barry's played out of his skin and should be ahead of most of that midfield.

Joe Hart - Drops clanger, after clanger after clanger. Club team drops him. Then gets called up by national team.

Adam Johnson - Plays great, plays great, plays great. National team ignore him.

I'm sorry but you aren't seriously suggesting we have a better keeper than Joe Hart? And you say Adam Johnson plays "great" hardly a long standing track record of brilliance in his career has he?

I'm all for lambasting England for being shit but lets be honest while we are at it.
 
Overall no, we don't have a better keeper - but do you play great players playing rubbish or good players playing great?
 
Adam Johnson is Englands form attacking midfielder without question.
How many games can you say that lampard has bettered him in the premier league??this season???
