It will be a full board decision based on criteria they have decided, not just Robinson.

If they give Reid or Robson that job I will cry, cry like a baby.

What the hell is he on about? Coleman doesnt fit the bill because he's ONLY managed in the prem??? What on earth is going on.

Why should the new manager only be somebody who has experience in the championship?

Everytime pie man robinson opens his gob it means trouble, our version of prescot.

I am really surprised. I thought that we were now a forward thinking, progressive club. Bassett is a useless long ball merchant, Robson is a hopeless alcoholic who was rubbish at Bradford, Middlesboro and West Brom, and Reid has been out of the game for ages.

Although I wouldn't fancy either of them, they do have experience of taking teams up, which is what McCabe said he would be looking for in a manager.

And then what though? Come straight back down due to tactical ineptitude?

I'm not arguing with you, Steve, I just feel a bit let down by the self-proclaimed forward thinking backroom staff at the club.

No problem......

It's what McCabe said straight away though....experienced in taking teams up and loads of managers people don't like come into that group.

All we can do is support whoever comes in.

Another case of different reporting. The interview I heard mentioned Coleman being a younger manager without winning experience, who had few contacts in the game.

The "fat prick" as you mention him may not say what you want to hear and may sound a little unprofessional, but he is well thought of in the game and is very well connected.

In all honesty I'd rather have something scraped from the bottom of my shoe managing United than Brian Robson. What a complete twat.

No, he really is a fat prick, pie man is probably better suited to him.

It was his fault that we only got 500k for Michael Brown and now he's come out and completly deflated every blade with this.

Everytime he opens his mouth its utter garbage, he is so unproffesional its untrue. He should leave.

If they give the job to Robson, Reid or somebody similer to them then the crowds will plummit. I dont know one blade who would be pleased to see those kind of managers in charge.

To rule out Coleman because he ONLY has premiership experience is the most mental think I've ever heard.

Typical Sheffield United, 1 step forward, 10 steps back.

To rule out Coleman because he only HAS premiership experience is the most mental think I've ever heard.

That's an entirely different reason to the interview I heard with him, so either there have been a few interviews or he's being misquoted.

I'd also note that the managers mentioned were given as an example as type, not a confirmation of names or a shortlist.

He said coleman is being ruled out as he lives in london and hasnt got experience at championship level.

Complete garbage, the man kept fulham up in the PREMIERSHIP for 2 seasons.

I feel totally depressed now, I cant believe what it seems we are about to do.

Another time I agree with Sharpy.

Reid is neither use nor ornament. His only purpose on this planet now seems to be as a gurning comedy gargoyle on Quesh sat next to Ally McCoist.
Bryan Robson couldn't manage to wipe his own arse without spending squillions of pounds of Steve Gibson's wonga at Middlesboro, and despite signing almost every big-name international that hadn't bothered to find out that Boro weren't a London club but were instead located in a wasteland like in the Mad Max films, his side were up and down like a bride's nightie. I hated him as a player, and as a manager he's not fit to manage the local cubs second XI.
We could do a lot worse than Coleman, it's just that I've a horrible feeling we might just do exactly that.

Not in the interview I heard, he did indeed mention him living in London, but also mentioned being inexperienced and not very well connected within football.

The man also had them heading for relegation, his record is:

Played - 176, Won - 61, Lost - 71, Drawn 44

He has had little experience in picking up a down team and getting them up for promotion, he's also very recently had off the field problems.

I also quote (if i remember correctly) - "I could name you 25 people who fit the criteria we are looking for, but I won't tell you who we're talking to"

What everyone seems to be forgetting is that we haven't actually appointed or interviewed anybody yet. The whole Terry Robinson interview could be a smokescreen/even if its what Terry Robinson wants Mr McCabe will make the ultimate decision.

McCabe has mentioned a change in culture, the managers mentioned would not be a percieved change in culture, why does this interview have more clout than McCabes?

read back what you said sharpy
he hasnt got championship experience
so keeping someone in prem for 2 seasons doesnt give him championship experience
he may be higher than the champ but doesnt mean he could cope in the champ
different ball game
